I still hold the belief that winning 9+ should be automatic at NU, even through the Riley and Frost tenures. If Rhule cannot get NU to at least bowl eligibility year one, I think I’ll finally accept that NU is not the Taj Mahal I think it is.
Automatic is bold...remember that before Frost it used to be 4 non-conf games which gave each team an extra cupcake win. Once divisions go away and B10 adds some other good teams 9 wins won't be viewed in the same way as it will be tougher to achieve, and already was once the B10 went to 9 conf games.

Your definitely not wrong, but when schools like Purdue, Indiana, Illinois, Minnesota, and even Northwestern have continually made bowl games over the last seven years, it makes you question WTF is wrong with this program.

Oh it's been a pathetic disaster not being able to make a bowl game...I was just talking about the 9 wins things.

Staying on the subject of the post If you want to start another thread and Troll, I’m sure it will suck like this post..

Haarberg is the backup OR we're getting beat by so much they put purdy in

Rhule literally said this

not sure why so many fans love to argue against our head coach
What?

We do not hear the question Rhule is asked but the host sets it up by saying, Who is QB2?

Rhule responds, "I think it is both of them, uh, right now," and then explains that they're both no. 2 because they possess different skill sets. The set-up and response start at about 4:57 remaining in the segment.

He LITERALLY never said HH is the no. 2 backup, and apparently you do not know the meaning of literally.

We’re a run first team. He said Haarberg will play when we want to run, which is every single scenario aside from when we’re getting our *** kicked. That'll be purdy time.

Wake up, guy

I don't necessarily think you're wrong on the limited point you're making here, but literally that is not what Rhule said. If Sims has the team down 14 after tossing some third-quarter 2AM-style interceptions and Purdy comes in, doesn't that mean Purdy is QB2?

I'm plenty awake smiley, but your cocksure stammering does not make you right all the time.

Okay, let’s just let it be then. I've never had a problem with you before, I’ve liked multiple comments and posts you’ve made. I understand if you mistook me for a troll because there rampant on here, just was caught a little off guard by your first response.

Yes, in the event we’re getting badly beaten, purdy is the backup

I thought that Josh Fleeks got sent home for showing up to fall camp significantly overweight? How did he still make the depth chart? That is kind of concerning for the WR position.

Other than Kemp everyone else seems to be a question mark. He’s obviously WR1, but we need a true possession receiver, probably haven’t had one since Westerkamp.

He did, believe he returned a week later and made his move on the depth chart..

He's been expected to be in the top 6 at WR after Betts left the team. He's a vet that can help us. Caught 69 passes and had 29 rushes at Baylor, he's got some good quickness. They are going with the vets until some of the freshman WRs are ready. Obviously WR is one of the big question marks on the team, might see more TE heavy sets to mitigate it.

It’s already been said/laughed about by multiple others in this thread. It would be redundant
After 5 months and the best camp of his life during which he seemingly fooled you and many others, Purdy worked his way up to “backup QB when we are getting blown out”

This, of course, should come as no surprise to anyone who’s watched him play (not a knock on the kid; everything I’ve heard points to him being a great teammate). Good to have a clear pecking order and 3 quarterbacks Rhule trusts.

Sorry about your incorrect take just yesterday. Maybe the NFL will release the script early this year and you can cash in!

Which incorrect take? Your logic has both Purdy and HH as “the clear #2 QB” hahaha!!

grant should be carrying a football every where he goes...rhule probably knows who to use, where and when with the 3 decent rb's we have. it took NU 15 billion years to figure out cross at goal line...

What I see when I look over this depth chart is talent. My biggest concern is defensive tackle which I still think is the biggest liability on this team. Polar Bear and Robinson are big guys but they have never been dominant defensive tackles that are total studs. They both get out leveraged quite a bit and more than you would like to see. But that is all in the past, right? There is also a lack of depth at the position. But I see a ton of youth and talent on this team. So if the defensive line plays beyond what I expect we could be a really good team this year by mid season.

If Sims goes down we are ****ed. Nobody can convince me that Purdy or HH are P5 players. But this year is about turning things around, flipping the culture and the narrative of losing, and thus building for the future. And this roster screams out "future good team". We need to stay healthy at QB and play better on the defensive line than in the recent past.

In Rhule I trust.

I don't know. I think Pork Chop was voicing his concerns about Ty's pad level on episode 3 but said he didn't want him playing with his head down.

I think it's only fair that you define "getting badly beaten" with your logic then. That way, if a game situation happens, you have some accountability.
Rhule said if we’re down 2+ scores purdy is the backup

I, unlike so many, take him at his word when it comes to the QB depth chart
