Denver Post and Jacob Callier

I couldn’t have told you who Jacob Callier is for all of the money in the world until seeing the Denver Post article ripping Husker fans on social media for their attacks on him. This site is certainly the most significant Internet discussion board for Husker football and I read it daily. Yet until the Denver Post article the name Jacob Callier might as well have been The Man In The Moon. But thanks to the idiotic Denver Post writer, my very clear memory of the dirty play on AM a year ago now includes the dirty player’s name. You can’t make this stuff up!

I read that this morning, poor Jacob!

All I keep reading from Nebraska fan is how knowledgeable they are of their football. All evidence to the contrary. Never seen a fanbase whine so much about a nothing burger that happens damn near every single play. And you want to excuse all the garbage Nebraska fan tweeted at him last season? Some of the most nasty vile tweets I've seen towards a college athlete - all coming from that "classy" fan base who is so nice in Lincoln, but no where else. Especially on line behind their keyboards.

Probably because fans like you won't admit that Jacob Callier, whether he is a dirty player or not, on that play he was. Don't pretend that after Martinez was down he didn't look up, then crank again on the leg... The answer, "It's football" doesn't work here. Hurt one of our own, and guess what? There will be repercussions, and this is the only way most husker fans can respond. Vile? Maybe. But his play was sickening when you decide to look at it objectively. Doesn't excuse the vile things he may have received on social media, but it certainly explains it.

Ok cool so if this happens on Saturday to your QB you'll be cool with it... good to know... /sarcasm

There is zero doubt in my mind what that guys intentions were... His actions were nefarious from the start of that play and he got away with it which is sad

GTFO. It was one of the dirtiest plays I have ever seen, see the video above. Completely intentional and unacceptable.

I'll wait for these examples of "the most nasty vile tweets" you've ever seen, but please do not act like that play was commonplace or acceptable.

Sure, if you slow it down and look real hard - you see Callier with a little extra twist at the end.
a. most likely not when he was injured
b. the pile moved

Again - happens on every single football play. The faux outrage and the weeks long hissy fit you guys threw was surreal. Not to mention - an actual late hit 5 yards out of bounds that was NOT called - knocked our 2nd best WR out for 5 weeks.

I didn't screen shot the Nebraska fans tweets and am not going to waste a second looking for them. They were nasty, vile and totally unbecoming of any fan base - let alone the "classiest fans" in the country. The very fact you are trying to justify that behavior speaks volumes. Its football you Knowledgeable pansies.

English lesson here... no one justified it, we just explained it to you. And you are a biased POS if you can’t see the intent. Watch the video.

What am I doing here? You’ll never cop to it. Get lost.

Show the video of the late hit that wasn’t called. If you can provide it i’ll show you what it looks like to admit fault.

Then maybe you might learn how to be a better person.

So you are justifying a player intentionally injuring another after the play and making up stories about vile tweets from fans to make you feel better about it. Gotcha

Callier wasn't the problem on that play, it was the guy that hit him after Martinez's knee was down. Clearly the knee was hurt before callier twisted it.

If only there was a well known saying...something like "Sticks and stones..."

Look, you are a toolbox and you know it, no big deal, must of us posting here are toolboxes when it comes to our favorite teams. But trying to say that name calling on twitter is worse than a dude trying twist a guys leg off is crazy talk.

It is like saying tweeting about a girls boobs is worse than going up to that random girl and grabbing her boobs.

So my advice is this, pull your sweats back up, wipe the nacho cheese off your fingers and face and get ready for a pretty fun game this weekend.

Link it.

Here's the deal, the video is out there and it clearly shows the classless act of him doing the deed! His head was down when he made a decent tackle. He then looks up, sees AM is down and twisted backwards with people on AM. Does he let go? No! He tucks his head back down, drops his hands to AM's toes and twist his leg further. How do I know he twist it further? His *** comes up in the air so his shoulders drives the heal down while pulling up on the toes. There is a picture somewhere that shows AM's face at the time of the over torqing of the leg the shows AM screaming out with mouth wide open and eyes squeezed shut.

Give me a break piss bomber!

Watch the video again and tell me you don't see what I just described! It was a classless move and he deserves to be called on it.

We don’t need a lecture about being “classy” fans from sCUm fans. Do you know how hard a frozen orange is, it’s what you classless a-holes would toss at the opposing BIG8/BIG12 teams visiting your stadium. Not to mention tipping over cars with NE license plates. So I don’t think anyone here feels the need to be civil to you f-tards.

Now go eat an edible, chill the f*ck out and quit whining like a little ***** on our board.

Not justifying a damn thing. It's football. Did Callier give him a little something extra in slow motion? Sure. Again, have you played or watched any football? Consider the laughter in the B1G when closet boy threw that hissy fit and submitted the play.

Late hit. Winfree missed 5 weeks. No one bothered parsing the clip and uploading it because, well.... FOOTBALL.

Exactly. Almost certain of it.

Let me bottom line this for you "knowledgeable" football fans. This should be your response.

Callier gave Martinez a little something extra. Oh well, it's football. Under NO CIRCUMSTANCE should grown adults or kids for that matter take to social media and harass a 19 year old with vile and disgusting posts and tweets. It's totally unacceptable.

There - end of story. A marginally dirty play that happens all the time. It's absolutely surreal reading/watching you guys react to something Nebraska player does EVERY DAMN GAME.

No idea WTF a Hyvee is cubicle boy. How notorious of a bad poster do you have to be for me to remember you from like a decade ago? You out of your cubicle yet?

I moved into it. Made a nice bed under the desk with a shelf.

You must have changed your screen name. Have no idea who you are tough guy.

Remember, I'm also a 5'5" red head. I'm a mailman. I live in my parents basement. Etc... all nice stories from the MB.

Fair enough. I guess I hope Montez has a “that’s football” moment on Saturday. And maybe Shenault for good measure.

See now - that's the difference between us. I would never hope for anyone to be injured. I'm sorry Martinez was hurt, but the reaction and hissy fit was totally over the top. And again, the tweets and FB posts were totally inappropriate and my point to begin with. I'm not surprised at the justification, just another example...
