At this point I doubt the hearing even matters as far as if he will or won't be back. Sounds like he is self centered D bag. Until he fixes that, he won't be back.

If I were Maurice, I would look at transferring somewhere else. We're getting a couple more guys in, and hopefully Mills sticks around. There would be no guarantee of playing time. Maurice was exceptionally bad at running inside when compared to Mills who had to run behind the same offensive line. I sort of wonder if he wouldn't make a better receiver. Then there is all this switch to defense stuff I heard about, so who knows what is going on in that kids brain. He might have someone outside the program giving him bad advice too. I'm with the others that are leaning more toward 'not my problem' anymore.
This is what I was trying to explain to Taco..Frost is not going to say "im stressed as ****, I got two kids who are about to be suspended from school for sexual misconduct. And this guy has child porn case that is dragging on forever. Not to mention, he keeps doing stupid stuff like being late. Thought I might cut bait until his case is resolved and let this OTL report drop."
Mo was not suspended any games last year correct? You cant tell the threat of a prison sentence wouldn't make him more likely to mess up. Pressure busts pipes.
my sentiments exactly, we cant just write off NFL level talent like we are loaded. Mo has made dumb mistakes but nothing to send a kid home for good. If Mo makes the effort( alot easier once you know you are not going to prison), then Frost will welcome him back with open arms( alot easier when you know he is not going to prison).
Mo was suspended for the first half of game 1.
It would be in the best interest of husker football that he doesn't return.

He will have a long way to go to get back. Not only his legal issues, but he essentially quit on his team. If everything is true and we do have cancers on the team, we don't want him back. He had multiple chances and just needs to move on. We are going to have a pretty good running back room next year and although yes a good talent, we don't need a divided position group. I wish the kid well, but time to move on.
How do we know he’s a cancer of the team? Has any teammate publicly spoken against him? I don’t think we have enough evidence, yet. Maybe he was. Maybe he’s just going through some tough **** for a teenager. I’ll let this play out. I’m selfish and I want all the weapons I can get my hands on
FWIW, from what I've heard, he had issues with being fairly withdrawn and not engaging with teammates, doing things like going to the training table and swiping his card to make it appear that he was there, and then he'd just leave. He obviously has a lot going on in his life currently, and hasn't had the clearest path to even get to this point in his life, but as Frost said, you try to do as much as you can for a person, but at some point you just have to throw your hands up and say we tried and they have to figure it out on their own.
In order to transfer, he needs to be on track to graduate. If he had stopped going to class, there is a chance that he wouldn’t have enough credits to transfer or had a good enough gPA to transfer.

I’ve heard second hand through a couple different Nebraska-born current Husker players that he is not all that well-liked by the team in general. Part of if is because he’s just a “weird dude”. I heard before last season started that he didn’t show up to optional workouts/lifting, which most of the A-team did, and you can tell that’s true just by looking at him. He’s Kind of an outcast.
I hope for the best for him and the team, for him to get himself straightened out and play for Nebraska. We could use the talent, but my gut tells me his college career may be a lot like his high school career.

So reading the tea leaves...he is still attending class which is a positive sign for him. He would need his grades whether he planned on returning or transferring. Frost has yet to make a final decision on Mo which leads me to believe he has left the door open. If Mo stays on track and does what he needs to do is still to be seen. The faster the case is resolved the better for everyone involved. Will the 12th be the day? 85 man teams are made up of all kinds of dudes, generally anyone who can help a team win is accepted. A few weirdos doesn’t hurt a team.lol..he was living with/smoking with several players when he was cited for weed correct? So even that may be overblown.

That is what I heard and someone else reported the same. It is a good sign for Mo and his best interest at the very least.

1) The guy is a bad apple, doesn't care for the team, etc.... throw him out.
2) The guy had a rough upbringing and isn't fitting in... let's act like he is family and figure a way to help him out.
There isn't a right or wrong. For as many examples as each camp can bring up, there are counters. Sometimes throwing out a guy like that is what a team needs. Sometimes working with him and watching him mature can result in something powerful down the road. There is no easy answer.
What I do know is that when he's on the field, there's some electricity he brings that very few guys have. I look at UCF when Frost had them undefeated and they had a bunch of guys that have that electricity. Whether it's him or someone else, that's the kind of player Frost's offense needs to work.

What I am hearing is that this delay is because Washington's attorney could not get in contact with Washington at the time of the hearing. As you remember, he didn't have to be present in California for many of the other hearings and could just appear via skype or teleconference.
Regardless, they continued the hearing 30 days and are requiring him to appear in person.
If true, I would just as soon want him to stay in California than come back to Lincoln.

Again not the end all be all, but he still has his twitter profile decked out in Husker stuff. Seems like when these kids are done with a team they instantly remove anything to do with their old program. So imo I would say he wants to still be on the team or is at the very least thinking things over.
He essentially quit the team mid-season. Its not exactly parallel to football but anyone who has served in the military knows how other members of the unit feel about of a fellow soldier who walks away from the unit during active duty. I can't see how his return would be a positive influence on the team.... it would likely have an opposite effect.
This is a different climate. Most kids have grown up in a restorative atmosphere where people are allowed 2nd chances if they apologize to their teammates, girls volleyball team, coaches and whomever else they may have hurt. If he passes some classes, stands in front of the team and has a heart to heart, and the coaches do a good job explaining that he has some issues but is going to be a part of our team whether he plays or not, then I could see him accepted back. It all comes down to communication. These kids aren't in combat...and if they were Mo could be considered one of the more gifted warriors...another player would be an idiot to not want him on the field if he is at his best. Everybody looks better when he is engaged. IMO we have too many mediocre talented players who want "law and order" and will ***** if things aren't fair...but they are perfectly ok putting a poor product on the field. We aren't a Division II christian university. The kids are here to win, to entertain...nothing more.
I say roll the dice and if he is attending classes (didn’t know that fact and if true that means a lot) and he keeps his nose clean and the case is resolved in time for the spring we take him. Need him out of the backfield on the swing passes and screens when he has the ability to scamper for a TD. He is a threat on every play and would take some pressure of Mills and the other RB’s. Like to see him add get little more weight via muscle in the legs to be more durable and learn not to take those unnecessary hits on the sideline where they wipe his *** out.
Generally speaking, I agree. In the situation I think it’s a little different because it’s not one incident. Washington has exhibited a pattern of behavior that is selfish and he doesn’t appear to care what or how something affects anyone else. There may be a few kids that will forgive him on this team, I am not sure the coaches are going to stand up for him as they did in your example

all valid points..if he passed his classes “on his own” while being away from the team, then that alone shows some growth. Sure he may make bonehead errors like being late or not following nutrition but those kinds of errors won’t make frost send him home. The one “unforgivable” error he has made was leave the team, but we don’t know the circumstances around it. We don’t know if frost sent him home or if he left at this point. Frost keeps a tight ship and could the team the same media answers. Long story short, in the spring if frost brings Mo in front of the team and says “ I put Mo on indefinite suspension for x,y,z and asked him to focus on himself and come back when his situation is over so he can focus on football. I think it was just too much on his plate. He passed all his classes and has gotten his case thrown out and is ready to join you guys. They team would hug it out and be happy to have baller back on their team. Football teams are full screw ups, strong personalities, weird dudes but the bottom line is can you help us win.
Yep - Agree with ur points and analysis. As I was writing I was thinking how many significant factors or reasons I don’t/didn’t know about....nor do most of us right. When I heard that he left the team I was pissed and said f’ off. But I didn’t know he was taking classes this entire time and not in Caly making more movies with his friends for all I knew. Like u said frost and company are the only ones that know all the facts and frosty will do the right thing for him and the team. I have no doubt we could use a player with his skills but if frost thinks he will be a distraction then I say let MW go. MW did so much to get to Lincoln so maybe #28 needs more mentorship and if frost and his staff and team members think he can help skinny legs become a better man then this could end up well for the team. I would love to see him come back and have a positive impact but understand if his teammates despise him making his return an overall negative.
