Mo Washington’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for the 12th at 9 am. It has been pushed back like 100 times already. He is one of our most explosive players and would love to see him back. Anybody got any info?

I think that ship has sailed. Basically walked away from the team. Is he even still enrolled??

I have not heard that he is not enrolled..and Frost has not said he is done with team yet. His name is not in the portal. If he were to get legal stuff clear I am sure it would lift a weight on everyone involved.

it may be in MW's best interest to pay for a div 2 or 3 program---much less stress for him--bless his heart. -- great talent though

Yeah I'm pretty much done with him. He walked away from the team. Best for everyone involved to just move on.

i just think if he comes back its a bynch of drama. Rather have a guy that just puts his head down and puts in work.

its just an opinion.
I hear ya..I haven’t heard much about what kind of teammate he is..he may be that guy that just works. Facing serious charges can be distracting for him and everyone else but once they are gone that may be just what is ne

I have no knowledge of what the inside the team vibe is. Maybe he's a good team mate. But I sure haven't heard much pro or con from players. Actually a good thing. But would be hard to sell accountibility to 100+ players if you let this slide with out SERIOUS consequences for not being accountable. Gotta have culture and buy in. One player isn't worth losing a team

Sooner or later you have to face those charges. I gave him more of apass than some thinking it was Cali fault. Think it's more Mo's problem for the delays now. It's not going to just pooof go away.

So we take him back, only to see him leave again when something else he doesn't like happens? No thanks. I'll take Mills and Morrison. I honestly don't think Mo plays football anywhere (well maybe prison).

I don't believe the pending charges lead to him being suspended from the team. He played all year with those same charges hanging over his head.

No details have come out on what led to the suspension have they? I’m not saying he was suspended for legal, but had to play a role. Felony charges and prison time could weigh on any man! Even on frost...he is getting calls from outside the line about hunt and legrone..and know their school suspension was coming. He may of had short fuse for mo..there is a reason he has left the door open I imagine.

I’m no lawyer but cases are often delayed while both sides reach agreement or when prosecutor is delaying and trying to strengthen case. For instance, if the girl refuses to testify he would delay it and try to continue to work to get her to show up.

"There are certain standards that we ask our players to uphold and when those standards aren't upheld, it doesn't matter who it is, they're not going to part of our plans that week or potentially longer," Frost said.

Then there is this nugget...... Frost said this is not related to Washington's ongoing court case.

This is just 2nd and 3rd hand information, but I did hear it said that Mo was like Randy Gregory- great talent, lots of issues and he will miss or be late for class, meetings, and workouts unless you assign someone to make sure he gets there. I believe that any help Mo was getting with that regard wasn't working and I'm not sure what if any support Mo has now that he is suspended. It's highly unlikely that Mo could actually do all of the right things on his own to earn back the opportunity to play. And at this point, Mo probably would rather go somewhere else anyway. So, yeah, the odds are about 1% that he comes back. But at this point, not many really care.

Roll with mills. Even when he wasnt getting much PT, he said all the right things and just kept working to get better when he got his shot.

Don’t know his whole story. Wish he were here and not an issue. Sounds like he’s got some other things to deal with. I won’t pretend to know his character but I hope he gets it figured out

His first suspension was because of all of the time he missed while going to court. They figured that he needed some punishment for not being there for all of the practices. Not sure what the second one was for.

The quotes I posted were from Frost the day before the Indiana game were Washington was suspended indefinitely. The two half game suspension weren't what I was pointing out to McMuffin

Didn't he get cited for drug paraphernalia as well? Even after the felony charges? Not only shouldn't he be back at NU, but he needs to mature, and quick.

The charges were dropped. But, yes. I agree that he probably should have been trying to keep his nose clean while he had felony charges hanging over his head. Not smart on his part.

One thing I wondered was how much it costs him to fly back and forth between Lincoln and California. How often does he need to appear in court? Can a college kid really afford the costs of transportation...$800 a pop when can't receive benefits for the trip. He is certainly a "unique" kid but I could imagine the cost and stress of travel might have pushed him to just go home. Could Frost really disagree if he said he wanted to be home until the trial was over.

I just hope that Frost is being consistent in how he applies disciplinary punishments and suspensions. Because nothing kills team chemistry faster than the perception that the coaching staff plays favorites in that regard. I have zero knowledge of how Frost is doing in that area. But if Mo did something seriously wrong, he should be off the team. Period.

It would be pretty unusual for a team to have a talented, but lazy guy who breaks rules and still gets to play and have it NOT hurt team chemistry. I've seen it before. Sometimes it's summed up as "addition by subtraction". And we saw it with the Huskers this year, Mo left the team and somehow the offense got better.

The problem I have with it is that it took way to long for Frost to act and players may have lost faith in the HC that he wasn't disciplined for his legal issues and then other stuff was overlooked for a while.

That is/was one of the main problems with the team. There was a great divide once Frost appeared to let Mo get away with things he did not let others get away with. Like blowing off practices, meetings, not attending classes.

Mo will be back. He is too valuable to the offense. He is not a player that is easily replaced in terms of explosiveness. Illinois' LBs probably had ankle pain all season after the things Mo did to them.

Its been pretty quiet in regards to Mo... i think that is a positive.. I would love to see him back in a Husker uniform as long as he is abiding by everything laid in front of him... Frost, team, cleared of all charges as well. I maybe in the minority but he is very talented and we need playmakers anywhere and everywhere.. jmho
