Talk about broad and inaccurate. Julius Mays played at Wright State -- the Horizon League -- and was two inches shorter and not as athletic. And by the way, he's hardly the person I'd blame for what happened in 2013.
Davion Mintz started in the Big East for a decent team -- a league arguably better top to bottom than the SEC in basketball the past couple years. His statistics in key areas - 3-point percentage, assists to turnovers, etc. -- are better or comparable to Hagans, the starting guard on the SEC Champion team. He has no giant, glaring weakness. He's an adequate defender. He's fairly athletic. He can shoot. I've watched full games: He makes good decisions.
But leave that all aside: Here's my main point with the Richards analogy: It is demonstrably true that the people who are constantly negative on this board are WRONG MUCH MORE OFTEN than the people who are generally positive. The objective evidence of that truth: Eight teams in eleven years that were Elite Eight or better -- or in the case of this year, SEC champs, ranked in the Top Seven by AP with every chance to make a run.
