Has the pedigree and might just need a change of scenery. Usually has some tough teams.
I don’t disagree, but he was pretty damn good for awhile. Stanford doesn’t give two ***** about football either. I think he’s a damn good football coach. His record lately gives me pause, but who knows…I don't think his Scott Frost-esque record would excite our fan base

Fun fact to know and tell ... Scott Frost threw one TD pass as a Stanford QB. Shaw caught it.Absolutely not. Would prefer Frost
> look at coaches in a division that includes up and comers like DeBoer, Smith & Dickert
> sees guy who is 2-4 in talent rich area like California
> hasn't made a bowl game the last 6 years
> currently paid $9mil/year
> "hmm, why not hire this guy?"
walk us through how you got to this point, OP
But..... You don't have the capacity to read the rest of the thought? Cool."His W/L record is **** lately, BUT..."
i do it's just the conversation should stop there tbhBut..... You don't have the capacity to read the rest of the thought? Cool.
I brought up his name 2 days after Frosty got canned, and met the same resistance from others. There was a time Shaw was a very hot name in coaching.. and I like his toughness. I think he also needs to break this habit of hiring buddies for position coaches, vs. finding top-notch teachers to work with the kids. I dont understand the insecurity of head coaches needing to hire their pals.Has the pedigree and might just need a change of scenery. Usually has some tough teams.
No it shouldn’t. Shaw would instantly be the best coach we’ve had since TO.i do it's just the conversation should stop there tbh
no he wasn'the was once the biggest name in football.
no I didn'tYou comparing him to Scott Frost is comical
ima stop you right thereHis W/L record has been **** lately
Yes he was - Literally was the media darling and on everyone's hot board to see if they could take him. Good tryno he wasn't
no I didn't
ima stop you right there
I am sure someone can show me examples where I am wrong, but don't most of those Texas coaches always want to go back to Texas? I am definitely not a fan of Shaw. It's a message board and he was once the biggest name in football. You comparing him to Scott Frost is comical as I didn't know Scott went to multiple BCS games and had multiple conference championships and was the only one to be able to beat Oregon when they were rolling. Also, Stanford has ridiculous requirements and his recruiting is probably more difficult than most schools.
His W/L record has been **** lately, and that is a huge red flag, but I have thought for years that he needed a change of scenery and could be really good. To me, I feel like Trev is going to do something off the radar in some sort of fashion. I don't think he hires a Campbell, Leipold, Dickert, Klieman, etc. I am 100% just throwing **** out there, but I could see Trev doing the following:
Urban: Everyone thinks he won't do it. He may not want to do it, but that is a homerun hire and Urban would instantly turn it around. Not only is he one of the best recruiters of all time, he also would have a homerun staff and his knowledge X's and O's in the college game is elite.
Aranda: He is falling off in some capacity, but would probably have no issues with keeping Busch and Mickey. I think that is going to be a huge thing is how to keep those 2.
Mickey: Everyone knows the discussion here.
Off the Radar: Jeff Traylor, David Shaw or potentially someone else that no one is talking about. I may not agree, and it may not get the fanbase excited, but there are some other good coaches out there.
no he wasn’t [x2]Yes he was - Literally was the media darling and on everyone's hot board to see if they could take him. Good try
I’m responding with my own opinion. Cuz it’s a message boardGood for you... Like I said, it's a message board
I think last Saturday's game was more indicative of how inept Notre Dame is this year under their new coach than how well Stanford played. Stanford was not exactly dynamic in that game.Has the pedigree and might just need a change of scenery. Usually has some tough teams.
