I believe this kid will be an outstanding pro. I think the Illinois kid could be outstanding as well. I think Garza should be ready as well.

Wouldn’t be surprised at all if Garza stays

Neither would I to be honest.

The numbers he's capable of putting up at home are draft altering. He does literally whatever the hell he wants on the floor in Iowa and gets away with it because "so special..., so dominant..."

The minute he picks up his second foul on any floor McCaffery puts on a show of crapping his pants with insane anger to get it to stop and respect the "so special..., so dominant..." player.

That crap won't fly in the NBA until he proves out to be legit which either won't happen (my bet) or will take a lot of time.

Garza is a great college player. But he is an old school player as far as the NBA goes. He would have been a good NBA big in the 1970s, not now. IMHO
It's because of this I think he stays...:Angry:poop I would like to see Iowa struggle. Some of their fans still talk sh*t.:chairshot:

I don't think Minnesota can obviously replace Oturu and his 2nd half at the RAC was one of the better performances I've seen from a big man in awhile.

Minnesota knew for a couple of months that Oturu was trending to the NBA and are combing the grad transfer and traditional transfer market. I think they'll be fine going forward, Carr is a good guard and they have some sophs that like RU, will take some steps forward.

The attached article breaks down how many targets they're reaching out to, which isn't surprising.

Garza can shoot the 3.

He can shoot the three well, especially for a big. But he is slow for the league, and the bigs in the NBA are a different breed then they were years ago. I fully expect him to be back at Iowa and part of a very very good Iowa team especially if Bohannon is healthy.

Color me surprised if Garza doesn’t declare for the draft. He had as good a year as any player in the country and is NPOY-worthy. A big who can bury it from deep. Not seeing how he can improve much more beyond what he accomplished this year.

If he's an undrafted/overseas caliber player now, he'll still be in a year too. In the meantime he gets to be a superstar in college instead of relatively anonymous somewhere else.

I also believe his family is very well-off so getting a contract a year sooner may not be a big concern.

Garza might be better suited playing overseas where he would make a lot of money as a star player.

No surprise here. Saw a mock draft with him going 4.

#4 overall?
Do you have a link?

The highest I've seen is mid 20's.
Even the ESPN article linked has him #36 draft prospect.

It's probably more likely #4 in 2nd round than #4 in 1st round.

List I saw had him #4 in a mock draft. I don't recall where I saw it. Any writer can throw out their own mock draft.

And don’t forget the better McCaffery kid who played only a few games this year. He’s a lot better than his brother. Should definitely be a top 10 team with all of them back. Offensively, they could be the best team in the country.
