It probably knocks him down two or three QB picks. That may equal one or two rounds.

If a team had 2 or 3 QBs they were expecting to be around at their pick, and they were debating who to take - this probably drops him to the bottom of that list. Sucks that a stupid decision like this throws away the hard work he's put in over the last few months to improve his draft status.

I learned my lesson and was much more aware of drinking and driving. I didn't have my life ruined and it cost me (or my parents) a bunch of money.

comments like this make me sick to my stomach when thinking about innocent victims/deaths from a drunk driver

but at least your life wasn't interrupted or cost your parents any money. Is there anything more insulting to read for someone who's lost a love one?

I doubt it, he's had a couple of incidents and many, many examples of good

Citizenship and leadership. He is no Manziel. May hurt a little but not much. Good thing he
didnt show his *** with the cops, credit points.

Yeah, I don't see it as a big deal either. He's been at MSU 5 years, he got a DUI. No big deal. Prescott isn't a saint, no NFL players are, but he's still a high character guy.

If you need a QB and Prescott is available in the 3rd round, his pro day and Sr film will mean a lot more than this DUI.

Agree. Some on here are acting like his career is now over, no one will draft him, etc, etc... I believe any team interested in Dak will watch how he handles it. If he accepts responsibility and learns from it, then he's still a high character person that they want on their team. Being a person of high character doesn't preclude you from making mistakes.

Nothing a quick trip to Hati couldn't fix*, I wonder if they have a spare seat

This week?

Hopefully true. It's not the DUI itself that hurts, it's the matter of poor judgment on his part that may hurt more.

Sorry, the seat in question is reserved for karma.** I don't think this affects Dak's draft status at all. And he's lucky to have made this mistake now and will have some time to reflect on how he parties before being drafted and finding himself in the biggest city he's ever lived in.

Don't think it will hurt him in the draft too much.
It'll hurt. Question is how much. It's one thing to blow a .08 and get arrested. Another to blow a .17. Our DUI laws are seriously 17ed up. We need to go back to the day when there were 2 different tickets. DUI wasn't considered all that serious. But Driving While Intoxicated was.

Agreed. The team will say, "Let's hope he's still available in the 5th-6th round."

ETA: But then again, the NFL knows about every overdue library book he's ever had. The problem is that they want him to be the face of the program and he has the status of "QB Project". Not much room for more baggage.

That cop probably had been tailing him for years trying to get him on something. I honestly hope the cops house burns down and his wife leaves him.

What is the statute of limitation on Karma?

Spring break not a good time for Dak,
needs to lay low.

Whatever it says about character, its unlucky. There are people who drink and drive all of the time; its just not that likely you will run across a policeman.

Seriously, this is the biggest WTF post in a very, very long time.

I honestly hope that cop you wish these things on sleeps through the 911 call when you need help.

Drinking and driving is an incredibly selfish thing to do. He deserves to drop during the draft because of it.

That's about the crappiest things I've heard from a Bulldog fan! Are you one of those "17 the police" people?

Coach in current society your are not allowed to make mistakes anymore, and if you make one, you should be punished to the fullest extent possible and never be forgiven if you drink and drive or hit a woman or say something against any of the PC police commandments. We have raised a bunch of intolerant fools.
