What a night. Got to meet Skeelow,CRAZY4Life and of course show. Wonderful people and guys Show is genuine. He's the same in person as he is on the board. Pure Duke fan and a big thank you to him for providing me a ticket. We got ourselves a team. I can't say enough about them. Grayson was on tonight. Some pleasant surprises with a couple of freshman named Goldwire and O'Connell. Bagley, Trent Carter and Duval were what I expected but the other two came up big. We got some depth for sure.

Side bar here. Safe travel to Show and his friends. They have a long ways to go home. OFC

Big thrill. Not only did we sit at the table next to some of the Duke coaches, Zion and another recruit whom I don't know but on the way to parking I stopped to let a group of folks at a cross walk and one of them is way taller than the rest. I suddenly realized that it was my man crush Marshall Plumlee. All I could do was yell "hey Marshall." He gave me that wonderful smile of his. What a night and I didn't pee in my pants. Our seats were really close to the bathrooms. LOL. OFC

Damn right we do. These young freshmen don't look so young. Of course there will be ups and down with them and plenty of learning moments but physically speaking this team is built like a team of strong upperclassmen.

I agree that Goldwire and O'Connell were surprises. I was also impressed by Duval's patience and team running abilities. I wasn't sure what his PG skills would be like but in this short scrimmage I thought he looked like a true PG that is also incredibly athletic. Just a fun team to watch and it's going to be a good year, just have to stay healthy.

Good morning men ! Great day to be a Bluedevil ! My friend Mark and I left the Crystal Coast at 9:30 am, stopped in Richlands to pick up my other buddy Mike and headed to the Duck Shop in Durham to grab some gear. 2 pm we arrived at the Bryan Center, more gear. We headed over to The Skillet about 3:50, very first person I saw as I came through the door, Nate James. We looked in the dining room and there sat, Nolan, Coach Capel, and Zion. We hovered at the entrance for a minute and in walks skysdad. I'd seen a pic of him before and recognized him, I said "hello skysdad. " He popped out a smile big as Texas and said "SHOW?" We talked a bit and then Nolan walked by. I said hey Nolan! Let me ask you a quick question." He smiled, walked right up to me and said "sure." He was super friendly and talked to us like he had known us all his life. I asked what he felt our chances are with Zion. He said EXTREMELY GOOD! He said he felt he was drifting away from Kentucky and that he was at the table saying Duke was his dream school. He said we were definitely over the 80% mark with him. I said take care of him in there and he laughed and said " We working it man, we working it." We grabbed a bar height table right beside their table so we could listen and look in on them. Pretty cool. On our way out we ran into that young white haired fella that sang that song " Let's GO DUKE, Yeah" we all kinda cut up about it. On to Krzyzewskiville, Card, Wallace Wade, which now looks absolutely AMAZING, Then into the new store near the entrance of Cameron. They had some nice chairs and tables on the patio out there and we just crashed down and enjoyed the awesome sunny clear views of Cameron, Wallace Wade and the Duke Campus. Then up walked Skeelow and Aubrey. We chatted until the doors opened. The new addition to the front of Cameron looked fantastic. Our front row seats put a smile on everybody's face. Sky's was smiling like a Cheshire Cat. My buddy Marks face was priceless when the countdown started, it was so loud you could feel your clothes vibrating.......

The guy directly behind my seat....crazie4life. Really nice fella, met his wife and I cut up with his little boy throughout, he had a blast. I was super impressed with our new team. My first though, damn, these guys are playing SERIOUS D. It's going to be hell to get the ball inside against this lineup. We moved to the ball well and the help D looked amazing. Trevon, a freak of nature talent wise but he still has to reign in some high school habits. He gets a little loose with it at times. And if he slips up to much there's a young man by the name of Goldwire to step in and I don't think we miss a beat. He's solid with the ball and makes great decisions and is lockdown on defense. I really like him. Alex O'Connel, wow. This kid is NICE. You leave him alone for an instant and you will be burned. Bolden, playing with much more urgency this season, his switches and help D were great. Wendell is strong. Gary will be TOUGH to keep out of the starting lineup, my God the kid can shoot. He plays like a veteran. Confidence through the roof. Bagley is ridiculous. He is going to cleanup everything around the rim for us. He's strong , long and does no wrong. He will be a human highlight reel by conference play. He also disturbs everything near him when he's on D. And then there was Grayson. Ok, he's a frigging stud, end of story, so tough. His shot is feathery soft and is beginning to feel like a JJ shot in the sense it always feels like it's going in. He's hands down the leader of this team. We are going to be extremely good this year. I am pumped. It was great to meet sky's , he's a very nice gentleman, watching him have fun was enjoyment enough for me last night. I had a blast. GO DUKE !

Ha for all our premium insiders, shows story sounds just a little like something historynerd would say happen to him. Only one of them is being honest.

Historynerd ? I missed something.

Ha nothing personal. This guy on premium recounted a tale once of how he was at denny's and jeff capel come in and was eating dinner, the guy introduced himself and SUPPOSEDLY Capel more or less invited the guy to have dinner with him for 2 hours and Capel spilled a bunch of recruiting details to him.

Unlike him, your account is believable and has credibility.

I read in a local paper that dean smith's son was one of the refs in the Blue/White game. No joke here. Can anyone confirm. I hope not but if so he don't need to be doing any of our games. No way can he be objective. He's a tar heel fan. He can't help it. Sooner or later nature is gonna take over and he will show his colors. OFC

Know his son used to ref d-2 games

DURHAM — Duke’s highly regarded men’s basketball team went on display Friday night at sold-out Cameron Indoor Stadium.

The Blue Devils ushered in the beginning of the season with the annual “Countdown to Craziness” event that included individual dance moves from players during introductions before a scrimmage.

It was cast as an evening of fun, but the Blue Devils put on a serious performance when it became strictly basketball.

“It was unbelievable,” freshman guard Gary Trent Jr. said. “I was nervous a little bit at first. Good butterflies. It’s unbelievable.”

The Blue Devils, who earlier this week were selected as the country’s No. 1 team in the preseason coaches’ poll, have a freshman-heavy roster with highly rated recruits at every position.

“We have a whole new team,” coach Mike Krzyzewski said in regard to the ranking. “It’s kind of crazy, really. It’s an honor for our team, but it doesn’t mean anything.”

There was a taste of just about everything from newcomers with guard Trevon Duval delivering assists and power forward Marvin Bagley III converting in the lane.

The Blue Devils will play two exhibition games before the Nov. 10 opener against visiting Elon.

The Blue team won the 20-minute scrimmage 43-41 on freshman Alex O’Connell’s corner 3-pointer in the final 30 seconds. The White squad’s attempt to tie was denied when Grayson Allen’s alley-oop type of pass to Bagley didn’t connect.

“It’s a good way to kick off the season,” Krzyzewski said of the team being in that atmosphere. “The main thing I think the guys really got a chance to feel Cameron, and nobody got hurt.”

Allen and freshman Trent, playing on opposing teams, each scored 13 points.

Allen, the team’s lone senior, won the post-scrimmage dunk competition, defeating Duval in the finals by dunking over two cheerleaders.

Among those in attendance Friday night was former North Carolina State coach Mark Gottfried. Scott Smith, son of the late Dean Smith, was one of the officials for the scrimmage.

No pornakel sign but section 2 row a with show. Wearing a Duke Blue 2015 natty T-shirt and a Duke Blue cap with a white D. Don't know what show will be wearing. OFC
Sky I got a chuckle out of what you said you'd be wearing. You narrowed yourself right down to you and probably 4000 other fans wearing the same attire as you but of course not too many in section 2. Have you ever seen so much Duke clothing in your life and such a fun and loud crowd! I sure wish I would have been one of them.

Yes lot of Dukie's wearing the gear. We sat out between Wallace Wade and Cameron and everyone had on Duke gear. Just imagine how much gear would sold by the university stores. I saw a visor that was $24.00. OFC

Great pic of you two guys! Show thanks for the recruiting update on Zion as well. Sky I have that exact same Duke hat- love it my friend!

I only wear that hat on special occasions. The D on Show's hat actually lit up with little lights rotating around the D. Very cool. OFC
