All.... Senators having everyone playing? RatsyChatham 38-28
Macarthur upset Springfield Week 2 43-42 at Memorial Stadium. That win was huge for Mac, who started out 4-0 but ended up 5-4. That also denied Springfield a 6th win, which might've helped get them a little better draw.All.... If the Souce is correct on his 5A projections alll very tough draws for those CS8 teams. Ratsy
Should it occur, that's a winnable game for the Crimsons.All..... The Soucie video last night (subject to possible change) has in Rd 1. Ratsy

All.... Yes and I just happened to have their offensive stats. The qb by the way for the Orphans I believe is the coaches son.Ratsy, wasn't Centralia SHG's Week 0 scrimmage?
For what it's worth... I'll give some minimal credit to the Lincoln football team for at least seeing it through. Plenty of examples of teams closing up shop bc of the same factors hurting Lincoln currently.Per 1450 and Lincoln news, the Railers will have a new head coach in '26. It was a tough 1-8 year for Lincoln. According to the local story, Coach Silkowski will be moving out of state.

That said, I did find it odd last week... I found myself convinced that if the Railer basketball program was struggling, they'd still have butts in seats and fans cheering them on. The football program clearly doesn't get that type of love. I heard some disheartening things coming from the Lincoln faithful that day... things that led me to believe the conversation has already begun about "the future" (outside the CS8 football world... again).
I would rather Lincoln leave and stay out. Mt. Zion would be a wonderful additionFor what it's worth... I'll give some minimal credit to the Lincoln football team for at least seeing it through. Plenty of examples of teams closing up shop bc of the same factors hurting Lincoln currently.

Good! That's awesome news. I will admit I was hopeful it was just the early Saturday matinee that caused the issue. But the one's who did show up last Saturday were unfortunately all I got to see in person this season, and ever to this point. I'm not advocating for anyone's removal, btw. I should have made that clear. I was just pointing out that "we're a basketball town" holds up even harder in Lincoln (from the things I could see) than where I grew up in Quincy. As to say, it didn't feel like from the conversations I was having gave me any signs that there were any expectation of change even being remotely possible with the current culture in place. Could have been disgruntled football parents, could have been the season they were having, could have been a lot of things... I just found it odd. It just led me to believe the conversation had started after I heard a concession parent tell me they were starting to get concerned about safety... That's a sure sign that a wave of parents feeling the same is coming. And once that wave gets going, it's only a matter of time.they brought a pretty good crowd last night to jville.
You're not wrong, and a seismic (relative) move that would certainly be if it ever takes place. I'd even take Maroa-Forsyth or Williamsville. They wouldn't be last place in this league, that much I can say confidently.I would rather Lincoln leave and stay out. Mt. Zion would be a wonderful addition

The only place to go for Lincoln is independent to find any success... The Apollo would be a meat grinder for Lincoln... again. Mid Illini would be UGLY. The Illini Prairie would be worse... Big 12 may be an option, a bat-**** crazy option... The Western 6 but the travel would suck... Nothing like licking your wounds on a 2 hour bus ride back to Lincoln. For what it's worth... Williamsville has like 500 enrollment.... Terrible fit for the CS8. Maroa.... They wouldn't do it ever! Josh J is too smart for that! You're not wrong, and a seismic (relative) move that would certainly be if it ever takes place. I'd even take Maroa-Forsyth or Williamsville. They wouldn't be last place in this league, that much I can say confidently.
My short list has the same name at the top as you though...
1. Mt. Zion for obvious reasons
2. Mahomet-Seymour. Also Apollo. Also quality. MTZ just fits more naturally given their location in Macon County as next door neighbors to Mac/Ike.
3. Williamsville or Maroa-Foryth - Billville more so for this one with numbers, quality... they've certainly got it under their current coaching staff. Maroa simply bc they'll continue to grow as a school and the quality of play is certainly there, I can personally attest for that.
4. Quincy - a proud founding member of the WB6, with Alleman's future up in the air, Rocky on the ropes, and the Geneseo/Sterling crown surely getting to wits end with the low-quality of play, I could see a world where QHS makes a good fit for the CS8. A lot would hinge on their ability to be a full or affiliate member... Basketball town, remember? lol But Glenwood gets a potential playoff opponent in the league and they at least bring fans, put out decent enough teams to go 5-4 at worst lately. Also gives us Jax/QHS, QHS/QND, and could open up the door for SHG to get into the setup they want with Rocehster/Glenwood every year (same division). The problem with QHS will always be that they likely never budge from where they are. Stubborn lot they remain.
I also, in return, have no clue where Lincoln goes. This is why the MTZ move makes so much sense. It can literally be a 1 for 1 swap with the Apollo. I know Mahomet might have a few words about it, but it does make sense.

The CS8 has room to grow but who would be the chumps to want to jump in? Quincy to Rock Island is 2+ hr trip while Rochester is nearly 2 hrs! A trip to Decatur is 150 miles... 2+ hr trip.
There are plenty of schools that need to schedule games every year... Having 3 quality non-con games a year would be nice... Having 4 quality non-con's would be optimal!
The target schools to grab would be the Peoria schools... Having Peoria HS in basketball would be nice. Peoria ND and Richwoods would be a good pieces! Manual would be the gem for basketball!
They were but they couldn't compete in the CS8 at that time. After seeing QND's success many in MtZ now see that they can compete... Only time will tell.Treading old ground here perhaps - but I thought MtZ had been approached about joining the CS8 multiple times in the relatively recent past…and all times was a hard no.
The math works. One playoff point more then Centralia. Looks like it will be a stop off at the Scoreboard for a bite to eat and a couple of soda pops. And another stop at the party house watching them cook 100 pounds of fish. I assume that will be a Friday game. Early forecast a high of 57 no rain. Good football weather! RatsyAnother update now has SHG playing QND.
i'm net-se. when i can figure it out i'll change my stupid anom-7565857679569395760 to my old pseudonym. @EdgytimI'm glad, at least in the short term, that may have been a fluke because of odd scheduling due to the ref shortages or whatever. So thank you for that info A-Anon.

All.... As a rule but not always history has shown the Hilltoppers playing northrn ball don't see hard passing elite offenses. When they do bad things can happen. Game plan is pretty easy. Throw often and always including five wide. Titans will score a lot of points as long as the line gives him time and do exactly that. Of course if the weather is crappy bad news for the Titans. Forecast for Friday anf Saturday mid 50's no rain. RatsyI can't see how Chatham wins this game...![]()
