Crean is a good coach at a certain level, but he's a damn weirdo and I don't like him at all. Needs to hang it up or go back to a mid major.

Yeah it was stupid to not make sure the mic was on. This won't be good for Crean, They are actively trying to get out of his buyout and it's clear his inner circle should be a point. He can't trust anyone on his staff. I wouldn't be surprised if a staffer left the mic live on purpose.

I feel bad for the kid on the roster becoming Cannon fodder. No common decency anymore, though when it comes to money it probably never existed anyway.

Zoom Was Still Live

So, who does Georgia go after for their next coach?
Has any other average at best coach ever milked the success 1 player gave him this long? Its ridiculous. He should retire or move down to a much lower level of basketball to finish his career.

Or, UL could hire him but I guess that is a much lower level of basketball so nevermind.

If they are trying to get ride of him It would not surprise me that someone did leave the mic on.

Crean and zoom.

Just those words together made me envision much worse than occurred. He may be the biggest creep to ever walk the sidelines. I hope UGA keeps the clown around for years.

God I hope UK wins it all this year. Love to see karma come around for Huggins and Crean in the form of Oscar and Wheeler.

I fully expect to be partying in Cabo San Lucas one day and when I go to the bathroom Crean will be the guy with the job offering paper towels and cologne. He's going to wind up like that. In a men's bathroom taking that aroma in because that's all he's got left. His massive urine nostrils.

Georgia's program--an embarrassment. There is a bunch of talent in the state but they can't get it with these bad coaches they keep hiring. Plus, they play in a converted rodeo barn---top players want top facilities. They need to commit some big money from their football program and built a state of the art facility.

At what level is crean a good coach?
Coach Tom Crean was a coaching masterpiece when he was at Indiana. Anyone that argues against that doesn't know a damn thing about college BB. Those idiots in Bloomington were just a year away from returning to their glory years but they screwed up and got rid of the greatest coach to ever walk the sidelines of *** Hall. Now look at them. College Basketball needs IU to be relevant again and the only way that's going to happen is if they bring CTC back home...to Bloomington.

It makes me sad that Crean’s career appears near its final implosion. He’s been such a fun source of unintentional comedy here over the years, I hate to think we won’t have that anymore.

I don't think Crean is an awful coach. He's weird, though, and I'm shocked he's been as bad as he's been at Georgia. His Indiana run was better than any coach they've had since Kelvin Sampson.

I’m wondering what @GermantownDawg thinks/feels about this
He’s one of the good guys who visits this board.
I’m going to attempt to create a parallel here, acknowledging different ceilings. Crean was on track for that year four surge much like he had at IU. First three years at UGA we made improvement, albeit slow, but we were poised to break out in year four. Unfortunately, the transfer portal is now a thing and we got DESTROYED by the portal. Wheeler now with y’all, KD at AU, Fagan at Ole Miss, Kier at Zona and Camara at Dayton would have had this year looking MUCH different. Not to mention losing both Jailyn Ingram and Pj Horne to knees on the team he did have this year.

Ultimately, Crean is responsible for holding a team together and he simply didn’t do that. We are left to surmise there is a culture problem which seems like a safe bet at this point. I guess some will point and laugh, but it wasn’t going to be out of the question we look good this year until the portal picked us apart. Will be interesting to see where we go after the SECT. We went after a ‘name’ hire with Crean, but give me someone that can coach ball and get after it on the trail.
