Is there anyone else that would rather have a Sam Adams or another mass produced domestic beer than one of these overly hyped and overly hopped craft beers? Although I did have an apple beer in Winston Salem that I liked.
I like lots of micro brews but you left out over priced. I like regular Sam Adams. Is there anyone else that would rather have a Sam Adams or another mass produced domestic beer than one of these overly hyped and overly hopped craft beers? I do like Sam and Yuengling, can't stand Miller, Bud and Coors. But I do much prefer craft beers over the domestic brands. Is there anyone else that would rather have a Sam Adams or another mass produced domestic beer than one of these overly hyped and overly hopped craft beers? I can’t stand that over hoppy ********. IPAs taste like a sweat sock. The nano/microbrew craze and the amateur “brew-snobs” annoy the piss out of me. They’re worse than the “cork dorks”.Is there anyone else that would rather have a Sam Adams or another mass produced domestic beer than one of these overly hyped and overly hopped craft beers? Agreed, not an IPA fan. Funny thing is that they were created as a means to keep the beer from rotting in long, hot trips to India centuries ago and they didn't really liked them that much. Now they're the craze.I can’t stand that over hoppy ********. IPAs taste like a sweat sock. The nano/microbrew craze and the amateur “brew-snobs” annoy the piss out of me. Nothing worse than ordering a beer and then having them say, oh try X, it’s tastes just like X. No, it doesn’t. It tastes like you put too many hops in it and it tastes like ****.

One of my life goals.
It's a blast, but make Bruges a life goal and Ashville a weekend. One of my life goals.
I'm going this weekend. Come on down, I'll show you around.
With craft breweries and craft beer stores popping up everywhere, there is no reason to ever pop open a bud or miller ever again.I love a good IPA. Just like every other type of beer, there are good ones and bad ones. Also, as with anything extreme on the palate...it’s an acquired taste.
I’m by no means a beer snob. I stick to domestics during WVU games because I have a nervous habit of drinking excessively. Cool Fall evening? Malty beers. Grilling out? Citrusy IPAs. Cold winter nights? Barrel aged porters. There’s a time and place for every type of beer.
Don’t try to divide this board further.
Im more of the Highlands Amber and my wife likes Hi wire what is that stuff called it’s tart I don’t remember. We are going to make it down there sooner than later. My wife is a big New Belgium mark. We’ve been talking about it for years.

Gose. It was eating at me
Is Blue Moon considered a craft beer or that a mass produced product?

Oh yea. Those are tart. I like the Sierra Nevada Otra Vez...it’s pretty mild. Also, Dogfish Head Seaquench Ale. If you ever come across Southern Tier Imperial Cherry Gose, buy it immediately. It’s dangerous.
If you ever come across a true sour beer you should try it. I like sours but can only have one before I need some alka-seltzer chewies. lol
There’s a place in Pittsburgh that specialized in sours. Draai Laag. They brewed some wild things. They actually got so known for sours that when they decided to branch out to other beers they had to change their name because so many people associated them with sour beer. Now they are called Strange Roots. Still doing funky beers though.
I'm surrounded by microbrews as well and know the owners of one very well. He's got 9 taps flowing at all times and he claims that he'll have no less than 3 of those with IPA's. He says they provide 50% of his business.I'm surrounded by microbreweries, and they all seem to be IPA heavy. A neighbor of mine and I hit the closest one, Pikes Peak Brewery once in a while. They have a good Belgian style beer, and they used to have a really good dark English lager. I think they stopped making that, and it was my favorite. Some of their seasonals are good, but I avoid their IPAs. Their stouts don't impress me either.
That's probably true, but the local ones I go to have like 6 of 9 taps that are IPA. They tap out on the non-IPAs regularly too.I'm surrounded by microbrews as well and know the owners of one very well. IPA's sell.
Yeah, my friend's place is called Copper City and I've been in there at times and he'll sometimes have as many as 6 IPA's but usually 3-5. He claims he'll always have at least one stout, one ale (amber, blonde, brown, red, etc) and something like a wit or pilzner so people getting flights can have a nice selection. That's probably true, but the local ones I go to have like 6 of 9 taps that are IPA. What's the difference between an IPA and a Craft Beer? I go to a place in Winchester VA that has 53 on tap. But.....I go there because they have a great burger. Every time I go they offer me a complimentary flight. That's probably true, but the local ones I go to have like 6 of 9 taps that are IPA. They tap out on the non-IPAs regularly too.
An IPA is beer style. Craft Beer refers to the brewer. What's the difference between an IPA and a Craft Beer? I go to a place in Winchester VA that has 53 on tap. But.....I go there because they have a great burger. Every time I go they offer me a complimentary flight.
I'm telling you - if you get to Parkersburg hit Parkersburg Brewing. I tried their beers a the recent event at Mon County Ballpark and they're all good. And they're not all just IPAs. They have a couple of good stouts.I think WV has a few good craft breweries. Mountain State only has one IPA that I can think of. I might try and go to their Morgantown location this weekend.
My all time favorite beer is from Greenbrier Valley Brewing Co. It's a black IPA. It may sound hipster AF, but Mothman is a bad *** beer.
Weathered Ground outside Beckley is really nice, but I never find their beer anywhere.
IPA is a unique style of beer. Back in the 19th century, Indian dignitaries visiting britain fell in love with british ales, so they tried to ship them back to India in kegs. Because of the heat and slow journeys, the beer rotted, so british brewmasters learned that if you change the recipe and increase the hops to 2.5-3 times, the beer lasts longer. Hence the name India Pale Ale. Brits hated it at the time and it's all people from India ever got. Then out of the blue, a hundred years later, IPA's are the ****. Not for me.What's the difference between an IPA and a Craft Beer? I go to a place in Winchester VA that has 53 on tap. But.....I go there because they have a great burger.
