This kind of storm is unprecedented. NWS declaring flash flood emergencies for first time ever in some areas. The terrible flooding occurring in so many different areas. Rain amounts in this time frame going to be records.
You want to believe this go right ahead. The NWS is now the weather channel. Fact is we now live in a panic state all the time - one panic after another. How many times do we hear - this is the worst storm in history. When you live in fear you can be manipulated. It is "not" unprecedented!

I have yet to figure out how to post a picture on this site since they updated it, lol, but looks like that would take a SERIOUS flood to get up over those steps and into the stadium.
Yes. And I’m not saying I think it will happen. However, I also don’t know that it won’t.

This has been a ridiculous amount of rainfall in a very short period. The Raritan Is forecast to be well above flood stage by mid day tomorrow.

Maybe it’ll have no impact on the game. Maybe it will. We’ll see.

its more of how people display their opinions than the opinions themeselves which make people A-holes.

OP was crushed for not even having an opinion..but for just asking a question,
What people post on an internet message board or on various social media sites does not "make" them A-holes. Maybe they make A-holish comments. Know and have met several people on this board who are perfectly nice in real life, but in game threads, and on certain topics and in certain threads say "mean" things. That does not make them Aholes.

As an example, on a NextDoor thread in an area we own a vacation home had a topic on recycling bins overflowing. The thread quickly turned into a bunch of name-calling, gaslighting and threats. All over an overflowing recycling bin. Not life or death kind of stuff.

We can all be better at this.

Or maybe because it just keeps getting worst. Maybe you can educate us when the last time we had this much rain in the same time period. Fact is people just make up their own facts now.

My daughter says NB power is out and not expected back until 6pm tomorrow. Anyone know power situation over on Busch?
Have a junior in the dorms on College Ave. Power is on, life is fine there. Parts of New Brunswick along Route 27 have flooding and issues.

In March 2003 there was a very heavy rainstorm on a Saturday and on Sunday I needed to pick up my sister as the bus stop near the Turnpike. I came down River road which was flooded out around landing lane. Rutgers 18 was flooded out between Albany st and Douglass. This was 10-12 hours after the rain stopped. This storm is much worse. I am guessing that Rt 18 in New Brunswick and River road around landing lane will be still flooded out by game time. I think it is likely anyone coming from the TP will have to use exit 10 and come to the game from the north. It will be a traffic nightmare.

Anyone else is Monmouth getting almost no rain yet?
It was raining moderately to slightly heavy for 30 minutes, but now it is quiet again. Down the shore everything is all right. People from our office live near Yardley, PA, which is flooding. I feel for those in areas that are experiencing flooding or where the tornado moved through.

This was not a "Historic" storm - lots of rain yes - lots of flooding yes. But this has occurred many times. The only difference is now we get deluged with Nixle, Amazon, and NWS alerts on our phones. Of course, I am english and the brits never panic.

You don’t get 10-12” of rain in 4-5 hours across half of NJ many times. I have never seen a storm like this in my 35 years in NJ.

Hope @RUDiddy777 is ok

Cranford has areas that flood

And everyone else , it’s an insane amount of rain today

The flooding footage is crazy and heartbreaking

Appreciate that proud. We’ve been very fortunate. It was ******* crazy at 7 when I went out to grab dinner.

I live in a spot that has some storm drainage back up. I have 5 cars floating in front of my house. We had some basement leaks, but the sump pumps held. My neighbors haven’t been as lucky.

Haven’t seen the footage yet out of the low lying areas of Wayne and Paterson, but my heart is already breaking for those people - they have so little and when this happens, they need to start over.

I'm seeing Newark on Twitter, but not New Brunswick. Got a link?

Didn’t we have a game a couple years ago, or maybe in the last 5 to 10 years, where the Rarita had overflowed almost to River Road?

Firefighters and other emergency responders - listening to the radio, towns calling each other for mutual aid and no one is able to provide it because every town is so busy...
Par for the course in emergency services for an event like this. Calls for service come in bunches at height of storm. First responders deal with this stuff. It looks overwhelming to those who are not first responders. Give it time.

Even if the game isn't postponed, there will be a significant attendance hit with people dealing with damage to their homes, businesses, and/or not wanting to deal with a logistical nightmare with all the road closures, etc.

Who is sent other places?
He is referring to emergency responders required to host a large event such as this. People don’t understand the logistics of hosting an event of this size. You have EMS, Police and homeland security personnel involved. If they are needed elsewhere due to flooding in their primary jurisdiction then they might not be available.

They have to plan for the worse case scenario and can’t just say well we will reroute people. Getting teams and fans to the game is not an issue. If their a mass causality event are all of the planned emergency evacuation routes open?
At this point anything wouldn’t surprise me. Cancellation, delay or even playing with no fans.
