They announced no parking in Johnson Park yesterdayI think a big difficulty in the decision is that the Raritan hasn't crested yet. It's already above record at Manville and headed for it at Bound Brook. Can you imagine if the river crested as.people arrive or during the game and Johnson Park started flooding with cars parked all over?

We did that all last season. Not a big deal. That‘s not good. The deaths from flooding nor the Raritan flood forecast for today.
I think that also means it’s become more likely that the game will either be postponed or cancelled or maybe played without fans.
Would certainly suck and while I've been very confident that the game would go on, I've been wrong before and can understand the Piscataway perspective here.
Anyone successfully get to their tailgate yet?
Game may be played tonight, but given how bad the rains were, OP's question was worth asking.I guess I don't live my life in fear like you
Just calm down and ignore people you disagree with. Some of you people with internet muscles and a proclivity to fight are sad and funny at the same time. It's just one person's opinion who lives in an area that was not heavily impacted by the storm. Don't get so triggered and angry.
I was talking about people being forced to park on the campus side of the stadium as a precaution against them becoming stranded if parked on the river road side.was not thibking of flooded parking, but flooded exit routes.. though muddy parking may be a thing... that red shale could dry hard over a dry warm sunny day so mud may not even be an issue
There won't be abandoned cars on the road tomorrow.if they are problems today, they wont just magically disappear tomorrow for resources...just play the game Saturday at noon, it will be brilliant sunny end of summer day
Just play it Sunday; we’ll have the college football world to ourselves.
edit: nvm; then less time to prep for Syracuse.
That's actually not a bad idea. Sunday night college game?
Can’t imagine RU goes against the Pway request. Imagine the bad press if something unfortunate happened. It’s either gonna be no fans or postponed. This request for no fans by Piscataway will be the final straw, only question that remains is when this weekend they'll play the game.
Notre Dame vs. Florida State is on Sunday night. That's actually not a bad idea. Sunday night college game?
You should man up and admit to the OP you were wrong. The media has conditioned people to live and believe in fear! It raining OMG
Covid is their proof positive that this is the right approach
Turn the channel or talk to your kids!!!
No good answerIf you play tonight, you risk sabotaging goodwill (people can’t make it, cars get stuck in muddy lots, opportunists criticize priorities, etc etc).
If you play tomorrow or Saturday, you lose tonight’s high visibility game slot.
If you play Sunday, you have a quick turnaround for Cuse.
To state the most obviousThey announced no parking in Johnson Park yesterday
Didn’t we play on a Sunday then a Thursday one of those years after ESPN started hating on us?Yeah, just worried about the Cuse turnaround
It’d be a let down for the team and fans, but I can see it happening if they can manage to get all the officials and network crews and support staff to the stadium on time. And the teams. We did that all last season. Not a big deal.
Agree. But yet he was still shouted down by the angry a-holesGame may be played tonight, but given how bad the rains were, OP's question was worth asking.
It's ironic that he's saying the other guy should be stepping away when it's clear he and several others in this thread can't act like adults either. So I totally agree with you. It's one reason why I don't miss the free board.Just calm down and ignore people you disagree with. Some of you people with internet muscles and a proclivity to fight are sad and funny at the same time. It's just one person's opinion who lives in an area that was not heavily impacted by the storm. Don't get so triggered and angry.
Then that last part is poor planning on Rutgers. As it’s not like the Raritan has never shown up at the “front door” before, right? It’d be a let down for the team and fans, but I can see it happening if they can manage to get all the officials and network crews and support staff to the stadium on time. And the teams.
What I’m not sure about is what’s in the stadium at the lower levels that might be problematic if the Raritan floord stage is high enough to reach the low side of the stadium. Could be electrical equipment down there.
Nah man, everything's fine.
Whatever Rutgers chooses to do I’ll be ok with, but if they postpone I’m hoping they do it sooner than later so people can adjust their schedules.
Campus buses aren't going anywhere if Route 18 is flooded. I almost had to stay overnight at the RAC during my freshman orientation in 2006 because they had so much trouble getting buses in and out.I think that you can open up the students section since they are already on campus and they would likely not need to drive far and or just take campus bussing.
I just mentioned something similar above. But I'm thinking it would be the rain that fell in the stadium itself. What I’m not sure about is what’s in the stadium at the lower levels that might be problematic if the Raritan floord stage is high enough to reach the low side of the stadium. Could be electrical equipment down there.
Not sure what your intent was here but I was responding to a poster who did not seem aware that JP parking had already been shut down.To state the most obvious
