I wonder if anyone is tailgating yet?
Oh boyBound Brook was just issued an evacuation order. PD just sent this message out
BOUND BROOK PD: Residents south of High St in BB should begin evacuating ASAP. Please avoid driving into & around Bound Brook due to flooding.
I picture a resort with a swim up barI wonder if anyone is tailgating yet?
Don’t forget about the trains too. They’re suspended.I think it really comes down to the condition of the access roads to the stadium. If River Road and/or Rt. 18 are flooded, I don't know how you get people to the stadium and the lots. If they are passable, then the rest should be ok and we play
Try to get us some updatesMy dad is headed from south plainfield to the lots now. Dodging broken down cars.

That’s horribleOne couple from our tailgate crew lives in South Plainfield. They have about 3 feet of water in their house. They were living downstairs while a gut renovation was going on upstairs. From the video they shared, they have lost everything
was not thibking of flooded parking, but flooded exit routes.. though muddy parking may be a thing... that red shale could dry hard over a dry warm sunny day so mud may not even be an issueLooks like the forecast peak is about 2pm. I don’t think stranded fans is likely. They might make early arrives at the stadium park up on the high side as a precaution though. Talking about stadium workers or whoever else might normally park on the river road side.
Have you been in the yellow lot?was not thibking of flooded parking, but flooded exit routes.. though muddy parking may be a thing... that red shale could dry hard over a dry warm sunny day so mud may not even be an issue
Step outside this morning. The game isn't going to be canceled. It's a beautiful fall day.Not sure why people are discounting the possibility... Obviously there is still a lot of time before the game and we've had plenty of bad storms before... But listening to the scanner now - 18 is flooded in multiple locations in EB, flooding in multiple locations in Highland Park, NB, and Edison, water rescues being made, etc...
If the roads around the stadium are flooded they'll be better by tomorrow or Saturday. That's the reason the game would get postponed. Two scenarios:
1.The game is going to be canceled, not postponed. One or two days later is not going to change the optics of playing the game after devastating floods and turmoil. There’s no other chance for the game to be played this season due to scheduling conflicts.
2. RU is NJ’s team. The game will go on to celebrate our state’s resiliency in the face of turmoil, as long as the roads leading to the stadium are safe.
luckily its not a morning gameAccording to a tweet from RU police department, Route 18 is currently closed in both directions in NB due to flooding. The note was posted around 7 am.![]()
C'mon now, stop being so mature.Whatever Rutgers chooses to do I’ll be ok with, but if they postpone I’m hoping they do it sooner than later so people can adjust their schedules.
Great, my daughters power came back on around 1am.Have a junior in the dorms on College Ave. Power is on, life is fine there. Parts of New Brunswick along Route 27 have flooding and issues.
I try to be occasionallyC'mon now, stop being so mature.
Waze says no delays and normal travel time from Monmouth county to Honors CollegeAccording to a tweet from RU police department, Route 18 is currently closed in both directions in NB due to flooding. The note was posted around 7 am.![]()
because only idiots are out driving anywhere right nowWaze says no delays and normal travel time from Monmouth county to Honors College
What? We live in Monmouth county and just got a normal rain. I woke up to not a single puddle on my 8 acres. Life does not revolve around your section of NJ just like during Sandy it didn't revolve around mine.because only idiots are out driving anywhere right now
Some people have jobs that they have to get to. Like police, firefighters, EMS, medical personnel and other critical services. It is a shame you think that they are idiots.because only idiots are out driving anywhere right now
You idiot. But you are a likeable idiot. Not a drop of rain though that chimney. Or my grass where I sprayed the Salt Guard stuff. What? We live in Monmouth county and just got a normal rain. I woke up to not a single puddle on my 8 acres.
Agreed, way too early. Latest Raritan flooding forecast is several feet less than it was for Floyd, which had record flooding on the Raritan. Will still be major flooding, so Johnson Park will likely be under water, but I doubt it makes it to River Road (any flooding there now is from rainfall, not from the river, which hasn't flooded over its banks yet), but then again, I'm not a river flooding expert. Hopefully we'll see some good predictions from the NWS tomorrow morning. Also, even if River Road were closed from river flooding, I'm not sure that means RU football is cancelled, as long as the campus roads and 18 are ok, which they should be by sometime tomorrow morning.

Always bad there when we get this type of rain- the Millstone and Raritan Rivers meet in that area.No way out of Hillsborough. 206 closed to Somerville and Princeton. Roads closed to 202. Roads to 287 from Manville closed.

I think he could exit before the closure coming from the south fwiw. This is why Waze is not a pro solution. Rt 18 is closed in New Brunswick.
My heart goes out to OP. Imagine living your life in fear like that. We had some rain the day before a football game let’s cancel it
we have a clear leader in worst post of the year
