I don't think he will return, but that's the only scenario I could see it. I don't really think the book has been written on his career for the fact that he's on his 3rd OC in 3 years.
From an NFL scout perspective, I think they are feeling like they're getting a look at what Sellers can be with good coaching. And the probably believe he will get even better coaching in the NFL. From a scout's perspective, Seller's was absolutely dynamic in 2024, looked like a totally different QB last year, and is now dynamic again. What was the difference in 2025? A crap OC. Some, like me, thought that Illinois exposed a fatal flaw in a Seller's-led offense with the whole spy thing, but Briles has totally neutered that. It turns out that it seems Shula just sucked.
IF his play continues this year, I think he'll be a 1st round pick. He's at least a competent passer. OU has an excellent pass defense, and Sellers absolutely carved them up. He will have picks, but that's not a deal breaker. Brett Favre is the NFL career leader in interceptions.
I think as a competent passer, which NFL teams likely believe they can make better, with his athleticism, which can't be coached, he'll find himself in the first round.
He's had "wow" plays in all 3 of our last games. Plays that no other QB in college football could make.
The caveat is that he has to keep doing it. The offense can't falter.
