That's definitely b-flag or blackflag

all the handles attack people basically the same way.

Thats why i dont think kid was one of the fake handles. Different vibe. I think he just likes b-flagcoopiewardroo because he attacks some of the posters kid doesnt like.

All kidding aside, I didnt think this handle was showing signs of dementia. That one was the race bating, supposed "lawyer".

So kid, you did join in on calling some posters as using multiple handles. You really just another handle of his? I was going to say it was hard to believe. Vastly different style.

But you were his devoted "puppy" for at least one of his personas. Maybe just a big fan?
I try not to get pulled into the childish nonsense. Assume you’re referring to the roo; I do agree with the vast majority of what he posts about our football program, yes.

I can see you getting pulled into the "he's all the same poster" a little, since you actually started saying it.

But I dont think you're one of Roo's many apparent handles. And Im pretty sure you know as well as I do that he was also coopie from a year or so ago. I knew him as Wardjr from the previous board he followed me from.

As for what he posts about our team? He attacks posters you disagree with, so I guess it'll just take you longer to see through the game he plays.

Like any crotchety boomer, I will get irritated when the board dogs bark at the moon in the middle of rational conversation; why? I don’t know; I blame it on the dems. I enjoy discussing the games, the sport; don’t really care to discuss posters beyond yelling at them and hoping they will be quiet.

And that’s Kid Dementia thank you.

Thats an interesting take. "Rational conversation" doesnt usually include claiming Stock and Jacque are the same guy, just because you don't like what they are saying. And I'm not sure hitching your wagon to the Roo personalities really backs up the Rational discussion idea.

You and I tend to agree on a lot of things politically related. But we do disagree on some too. I would simply caution you about something I learned in politics. Not everyone who disagrees with you is doing so out of ignorance. You may not like their opinion, but often times, they've got just as much reason put behind their opinion as you do yours.

Yeah we could run around in circles with this for a while here. I think the original point I was pushing back on is that an elite receiver would cure Sellers inconsistent play. I just don’t believe that the receivers are a big factor in that. But yes you’re right about big passing numbers on bad teams sometimes. I’ll gladly take any big time, 5* receivers on the team.
And once again, I get your point but my comments are not about Sellers. Sellers is Sellers.
Sellers is not likely to get us to 10 wins if we had 3x Alshons for him to throw to.
You're running in circles by yourself.

Two of our 3 losses this year, the offense put up 34 points. Did Sellers make any mistakes? If he played a little better, do we possibly win? Sure. But if the defense played better, we win for sure. Sellers wasn't responsible for the D getting repeatedly gashed by MSU on the way to allowing 40+ points. If your offense scored 34 points in a league game and you lose, the blame belongs on the D, not the QB.

We are thankul to have your tutelage.

I wasn't referring to poster handles in the post you quoted, but I'll play.

I made a post yesterday; you and 'Jacque' charged out flailing away immediately, almost in unison. Happens often. Interesting.

The first response I ever got from 'Jacque' was to inform me what a physically giant specimen of a man he is, implication being I should thus exercise caution going forward. Stock (I do now like the individual behind that handle) had made statements at that time about things that are inconsistent with what I have personally experienced and know about those things. The thought patterns in their posts were consistent and alike. Taken together, they both lost credibility with me and I could see they maybe were the same guy. Sorry.

Don't know why this is an issue; weird, but you guys (?) are obviously entertained by it.

Well, the tutelage was offered in earnest.

I think the entertainment comes from a dude with multiple handles over multiple boards making such a huge deal about how supposedly other people are using different accounts.

His off the wall antics even prior to that were ridiculous, but adding this irony in is just too funny. The dude is a looney. And offering to substantiate his delusions by joining in? Well, my opinion on that is pretty easy to decipher.

I did find it funny you mention Jacque trying to tell you how tough he is. As I read that, I immediately thought of you trying to tell everyone how only you know about football because you supposedly played in highschool. (As if thats a unique thing, even if true) Maybe sometimes you come across as what you don't like in others?

Either way, my assurance won't mean much, but Ive spoken with multiple posters outside of this board. And those two are not the same guy. But you can believe or disregard as you will, obviously.

Go read my posts. 🙄
I mean I guess your point is that South Carolina can’t be successful without an elite receiver? It sure seemed like your point was lack of an elite receiver was the current problem. Don’t get me wrong I’m all for elite receivers, but your posts seem to contradict themselves.

Not likely to hit 10 wins without more playmakers on the roster. How many big time playmakers do we have now? How many did we have when we won 33 games in 3 seasons?
How many did UI have last season when they went undefeated? Their QB and one of their WRs both went in the 1st rd (Mendoza/Cooper).

We won last week because of 3 big time plays. But none of them were WRs. Some of that is on Sellers, because he's not giving them the chance.

Whether Sellers comes back or not, it may not make that much difference in the W/L record without bringing in some more playmakers. And if Sellers does come back, that may doom us because what big time WR is going to want to play with Sellers? Playmakers go where they can make plays. Briles knows all this.

I saw Steve talking to our guys after one of their big wins....he said "big time playmakers make big time plays". That's from someone who knows how to win at USC.

As great as a coach that Saban was/is, his teams were also loaded with elite talent, and sometimes they still lost. But those big time playmakers were the ones that sometimes put them over the top.

Yeah I mean you’re not wrong about any of that. It’s competitive getting top talent. I think the program is in really good shape as far as roster assembly, but a lot of sec schools are as well. I’d like to see some big time linebackers come in. I mean with the receivers probably 6-7 of them were highly recruited four stars, with Harbor being a 5* athlete. Thats about as good as you can ask for.

What would Briles' offense look like with someone like Rattler or Shaw distributing the ball? We may have some big playmakers on the roster that just aren't being given the chance.

It’s just a different identity. Sellers obviously isn’t the distributor Rattler or Shaw was, but he has some unmatched attributes as a playmaker. I think everyone’s finally on the same page with Sellers as far as fans, scouts, and casual watchers. He needs to improve as a passer, in terms of his professional prospects, but his athletic ability and physical gifts make for an exciting run here over the next two months. But to answer your question, I’m not sure what Briles’ offense would look like with his “prototypical” passer. Sellers is the best option right now. I like Cutter Woods a lot next year, but would also support if someone like Lagway or Jared Curtis entered the portal. Cutter seems like a sprite, clever qb who is not a statue in the pocket. Right now, he would probably be comparable to the kid at Tennessee. If I were him, I’d live in the weight room and condition to maximize his potential. He’s listed at 215, but doesn’t look it to me. He could realistically get to 230-235 and help build on the current offensive identity.

I share the need for some top shelf receivers. Skill guys are like hunting dogs, they don’t need much assistance to show their stuff; ie Sterling, Brooks, Alshon, Ellington, Deebo. I’d like to see Swain at receiver but that’s probably already been tried in practice. We’ve had one or two over the last couple of years but they transferred out.

I get that you are a Sellers guy, and to each his own, but for me, I hope he heads to the NFL at the conclusion of this season, he is far too inconsistent. In my opinion, he is an athlete playing qb and he is a tremendous athlete for sure, just not a very solid QB.

So you would rather have someone who’s never taken a meaningful snap instead of a probable first round nfl pick. Mmm-k. Weird.

Not trying to start a fight with you - just saying:

I'd rather have a coach that makes sure the other QB's on the roster have meaningful snaps and are experienced at any given moment. This is done on every team at nearly every position. RB's are swapped out often. Linemen are subbed. D players are subbed. Kickers and punters are not subbed so much simply because they are the specialists of the specialists and generally the depth chart isn't deep for those two positions.

But for some reason or other, the QB position is treated like some sort of holy relic that can't be touched. It's absurd. I would have thought Spurrier shattered that myth @ Florida but coaches around the country still pretty much refuse to swap QB's , even with huge leads. I'll never understand that mentality. ----- Also, you keep saying Sellers will be a first round pick, and you're implying, wrongly, that it will be strictly for the QB spot.

He will not play QB in the NFL, and if he does, it won't be for long. He's not a QB.

I think Sellers is a top notch college QB, but I haven't seen anything that tells me he can throw the ball in tight windows like a NFL QB needs to do. He should stay....grab the money, and lead us into the playoffs next year!

The only scenario I see him returning is if he plays well enough down the stretch that he thinks another year with Briles will make him a top 10 pick and a Heisman favorite. Combine that with playing with his brother next year, and that may be enough.

I think the book on his pro career has already been written. Finacially, he should take the millions for another year in college, then make the jump.

I get though, that there are other factors. Briles gets a call from somewhere else? We need a whole new OL next year? Sometimes you have to strike while the iron is hot.

I don't think he will return, but that's the only scenario I could see it. I don't really think the book has been written on his career for the fact that he's on his 3rd OC in 3 years.

From an NFL scout perspective, I think they are feeling like they're getting a look at what Sellers can be with good coaching. And the probably believe he will get even better coaching in the NFL. From a scout's perspective, Seller's was absolutely dynamic in 2024, looked like a totally different QB last year, and is now dynamic again. What was the difference in 2025? A crap OC. Some, like me, thought that Illinois exposed a fatal flaw in a Seller's-led offense with the whole spy thing, but Briles has totally neutered that. It turns out that it seems Shula just sucked.

IF his play continues this year, I think he'll be a 1st round pick. He's at least a competent passer. OU has an excellent pass defense, and Sellers absolutely carved them up. He will have picks, but that's not a deal breaker. Brett Favre is the NFL career leader in interceptions.

I think as a competent passer, which NFL teams likely believe they can make better, with his athleticism, which can't be coached, he'll find himself in the first round.

He's had "wow" plays in all 3 of our last games. Plays that no other QB in college football could make.

The caveat is that he has to keep doing it. The offense can't falter.

There's always an NFL team that will take a shot on an athlete thinking they can make him onto a qb. But I think his career there is not a long one.

So it's an interesting decision. Does Briles return? Can we rebuild the OL two years in a row?

4 ish million now or start the clock on a short NFL stint.
