Stay home if you can. Outside of work and grocery shopping there should be no reason to leave your home. Avoid bars, restaurants, libraries, parks, any public place where you could be in close proximity to people unless absolutely necessary
The virus spreads through the air. Simply standing next to and breathing in the same air as an infected person is all it takes. Surgical masks will not work, washing your hands will not work (although you should do that regardless)
There is so much misinformation out there right now. Just be overly cautious and stay safe
So basically quit living your life? And guess what if it spreads as easily as this then just going to work or grocery store you could just as easily get it there to. It’d be a b*tch to quit living and still end up getting it anyways.
Just some facts about the flu this season. Between Oct 1st and February 29th. Numbers listed below.
CDC estimates*
Flu cases- 40 million (8 mil new cases on avg per month)
Medical visits- 20 million (4 mil on avg a month)
Hospitalization- 600k (120k on avg a month)
Deaths- 50k (10k on avg a month)
While COVID19 MAY end up having a higher mortality rate than the flu, do you realize how much the numbers would need to jump to reach the number of cases or deaths of that of the flu?
I’m not saying you shouldn’t take this virus serious or not to take precautions because everyone absolutely should, but that goes the same for the flu or just general overall good health and wellness as well. With all the other scary illnesses out there, this virus doesn’t call for everyone to stop living their life and the whole world to shutdown anymore than the hundreds or thousands of other things that can kill you.
