A friend of mine has had a nasty cough for about a week after taking a spring break trip to the beach when it was cool and rainy. No other symptoms as of now, but in early February he had flu-like symptoms including aches and pains. All signs point to flu morphed into bronchitis sort of deal after cruising the beach for a few cold days in a golf cart.
He called into to the doc last week and got basically that diagnosis and was prescribed a cough pill and a zpack. He is still hacking, but seems to be feeling better. Tonight he just got a call from PepBoys saying that an employee at the store he shopped in the Friday before Spring Break had an employee test positive for Coronavirus and was likely contagious that day (March 6th.) He has gone from mister Coronavirus no big deal guy to sleeping out back in the camper until he gets a test.
This made me think of a few things:
A. Cool move by PepBoys to call.
B. Are scumbag lawyers going to start trying to sue businesses like that for exposure to CV?
C. How long until everyone gets on board that this is really serious and while we have no idea where it's going to end up, we should all nut up and hang out at home for a month or so until we get over the hump? (I understand the money issue for employees and business owners alike, but just hunker down and don't pay any bills for a a few weeks and see where we are then... Nobody is going to cut the lights off on you. As an employee or business owner, the worst case scenario will be letting this **** drag out for 3 or more months.. that's how we turn a recession into a depression.)
