A friend of mine has had a nasty cough for about a week after taking a spring break trip to the beach when it was cool and rainy. No other symptoms as of now, but in early February he had flu-like symptoms including aches and pains. All signs point to flu morphed into bronchitis sort of deal after cruising the beach for a few cold days in a golf cart.

He called into to the doc last week and got basically that diagnosis and was prescribed a cough pill and a zpack. He is still hacking, but seems to be feeling better. Tonight he just got a call from PepBoys saying that an employee at the store he shopped in the Friday before Spring Break had an employee test positive for Coronavirus and was likely contagious that day (March 6th.) He has gone from mister Coronavirus no big deal guy to sleeping out back in the camper until he gets a test.

This made me think of a few things:

A. Cool move by PepBoys to call.
B. Are scumbag lawyers going to start trying to sue businesses like that for exposure to CV?
C. How long until everyone gets on board that this is really serious and while we have no idea where it's going to end up, we should all nut up and hang out at home for a month or so until we get over the hump? (I understand the money issue for employees and business owners alike, but just hunker down and don't pay any bills for a a few weeks and see where we are then... Nobody is going to cut the lights off on you. As an employee or business owner, the worst case scenario will be letting this **** drag out for 3 or more months.. that's how we turn a recession into a depression.)

I’m a small business owner and our sales haven’t really dipped at all. I’m expecting them too very soon, but I haven’t seen it yet. I employ 3 full timers and we will keep working until there is no work to do.

Me and the wife have agreed to essentially not go anywhere but the office and home for the foreseeable future. We will only make grocery runs when we have a need for several things, not just one. And we will limit those trips to once every two weeks or so.

My 3 and 5 year old are getting daily batting practice off the tee in the back yard, as well as daily races on the old school Nintendo power pad in the mancave. We’ve got educational stuff we do each night also.

It’s not fun thinking about where the world will be in a few months, but putting the focus on the kids and keeping them entertained has been refreshing. Being a parent is awesome.
