This first year is going to be a work in process IMO. I was concerned that it might take most of the season for the players to be comfortable in the schemes and their roles. They’re actually ahead of where I thought they would be.

I hate to dog these kids, I've been on Benhart's *** for 3 years now. He actually has improved and it might be that Nouili adds some stability over there next to him. In other words, last night, Benhart didn't do things that stood out in a bad way.
We reserved that **** to Piper.
I've always thought Piper was a good athlete, but he carries more weight than it looks like he can, and he sucks at LG. The good feet and athleticism he brought from HS disappeared his freshman year. He keeps screwing up and his popularity among his teammates will disappear in a hurry.
Along the OL, we never seem to have more than 2 good players side by side. If Jenkins can do the job at LG and with Scott at C and Nouili at RG, I actually think they can move some people.
Corcoran is still projected as a 2nd or 3rd round draft pick, and I can't see it. But, I will defer to the people that do that type of evaluation for a living. As a 2nd or 3rd round pick, he should be paving the way and he does jack ****.

I've just never been convinced that bookend 6'9" and 6'10" OT's with poor foot work and mobility is the way to go.
But thats the case with most recruited OLmen in high school. Especially in NE and KS, they're generally gonna be a lot bigger than the kids they go up against.
It's an evaluation mistake when they are offered.

The replay I saw I thought it looked obvious that his LT blocked his view but you may be right. Coach’s film review would be a better gauge. I didn’t like the play design. Damn there was a lot of traffic in that corner.

yes. that was Frost's first year and we were so much better the second half of the season after they switched Farmer to Center. Ozigbo started getting loose and we all thought everything was going to work out well.
But even then, it was a bit bothersome that Farmer could only get his chance after an injury to the starter. And then our OL sucked again to start the next year. In fact our OL has sucked to start the year every year for quite a while. Last night may have been the best our OL has done on opening night since the Pelini years.

I promised myself, that after the game I wasn't going to fuss & moan & gripe! We know who threw the 3 interceptions we know who was in illegal motions,on the goaline twice, & we know who fumbled! Until a Alpha Male takes control, & says "follow me", this **** continues! A former player said, " it will continue until some Alpha Males step forward & says, " enough of this **** beating ourselves"!!!!!
He worked with the practice squad and rookie O linemen. He wasn’t the top o line coach for the bears. They sucked because their GM sucked.
