We will beat CU soundly. Mark it down. People panic after one game. Our offense played like ****. My money is on Frost having them ready next week.
I will never understand why people freak out about things like this. Is it a lack of football knowledge? Frost will get it figured out. These guys didn’t just get bad during the off-season.
I am looking forward to the Colorado game but I was kind of hoping/expecting Coach Frost would have the team ready for game 1. Winking

Colorado has an elite WR but their OLine is worse than ours and I put the o/u on sacks we get on Montez at 7.

We were fortunate to win even with USA turning it over a million times. That's how bad Martinez and the offense was. I don't think this is a quick fix based on our OL play. I'm really worried about next week! This is coming from a guy who usually chugs the Kool-Aid.
No. You're hilarious. They are not better than Colorado's defense or even close to. They are a barely I-A team and it was just a game 1. Your OL looked pretty bad and ours not much better. Only an NU fan would pump up a team they paid over a million bucks to be first game CHUM for the home crowd to be this epic opponent. They are the modern day Pacific from the Tom Osborne days. You'll see a greatly improved CU team next week and I expect we'll see a greatly improved NU team next week as well. The best team will win as always. Good luck!
Nebraska will beat Colorado by more than 14 points. Martinez won't play his worst game, 2 games in a row. Vastly improved defense and special teams, not worried.
I wouldn't bet on this game to save my life. Neither team was very good but neither as bad as their fans are moaning about either. It's game 1 and everyone gets way too overvalued one way or the other. It was fun while you guys were watching everyone else try to figure out in week 1 until you saw your own crew. We know the feeling. Honestly, just a game 1. Both teams will be a lot better next week. NU will look better on offense and we'll look better on defense. It's how this works.

Colorado was the 2nd worst team we played last year and had by far the slowest defense. The only reason you weren't the worst is because we had to schedule the makeup game with Bethune Cookman.
Is that just you being negative or an honest assessment of the spread? There is no chance Colorado will be favored by 17. At most it’s a pick ‘em spread. I believe Nebraska will be favored by 5-6.
Mortgage is already paid off, Colorado fans are terrible people who yell obscenities at young children wearing Nebraska gear in Colorado. Team and fan base are trash.

Agree. Our Offense was off today. We know what they are capable of so not worried. We got a win today. Got the first game jitters out. We will be just fine and I still stand by my 9-3 season prediction.

Defense was fair and I think offense will be good. But cross your fingers that Washington plays all year because we need a back that can make something out of nothing. Terrible first game but that's not uncommon. Lack of contact and scrimmaging to prevent injuries is probably part of the reason. Next week is huge but it always was.

The offense was bad. But I don’t think it’s because they need to get that much better as much as it was just an off day. Adrian played by far his worst game of career. What’s more likely, bad day or he got a lot worse in the off season? If the snaps get fixed or Farniok plays, Mo plays the whole game and Adrian is his usual self, then we can score enough to win next week if the defense shows up
So are we betting on this, or was this whole thread just a big blast of wind?
If you're a fan of this football program, if you weren't unnerved that we were being outmuscled by a 3-9 team on the LOS, I would say you were the one lacking football knowledge.

I don’t disagree, but the O wasn’t a little bad, it was a lot bad. We’ve seen what they can do when they are clicking, but there’s a difference between just tweeking a few things for the next game vs. what-the-hell-was that-we-really-need-to-tighten-the-screws quickly. That’s why people are losing their sh-t, because it feels like a lot needs to get righted in one week’s time.
Fix the snap timing and get proven talent to play up to their proven capabilities and it’ll be enough to get us to Ohio state, which gives the o line a month to really come together. It all starts with Martinez. If he plays well, we blow out USA and everyone is happy. I just don’t believe he isn’t at least as good as last year. Which is all he needs to be to get to 4-0.
The o line needs to get better. Just like last year. And they got a lot better last year as the year went on. Is it possible we struggle there all year? Yep and I’ll be worried if that’s the case. But it’s week 1. I’ve seen a lot of very good teams struggle with crappy teams week 1 and everything turns out ok
