You’re wrong, they got a lot of bad publicity off that from respectable news outlets, many people who read Bloomberg came away with a downgraded view of UNC. Or maybe they read your post and favored that instead.

How many is many? The number of people who regularly read Bloomberg would probably fit in someone's living room. What respectable news sources? A few internet blogs and a handful of online reporters?

Their image is not going to be damaged unless the knowledge of the scandal is widespread across virtually all media. It's not even close to that. Even the outlets that reported the scandal published one article and then moved onto the next story. Only a few UK fans on this board keep mentioning it. I never see it mentioned anywhere else.

No, he is right. UNC is a top 5 public school and #30 for all universities and the scandal seems like it never happened. Don't know why but the truth.

You read this board and claim only a few UK posters mention it and then use that to determine how everyone who doesn’t visit this board feels about it. That is an error so large that I’m not going to explain how flawed that is, it should just come to you in time. Google search UNC AFAM, UNC scandal to learn which publications wrote on the topic, it was on CNN as well. That influences people opinions despite what your in depth all encompassing analysis of perusing the rafters has shown.

A university can be ranked and still a fraud, they’ve proven that. Look at what a joke sacs is but yet they are still the accrediting body, Sacs was never going to appropriately punish UNC. It doesn’t matter what felonious ranking you get, there will be students who opt to pick another school based on that scandal, the ones who care about academic reputation.

It’s such an honor and so esteemed to have fake classes for decades, how prestigious. Hey look at our fancy ranking we’ve paid for by defrauding anyone who would expose our lies.

US News and World Report college rankings: UNC-Chapel Hill #30, Kentucky #147. Doesn't seem to have hurt the school's image.
Of course it does, whether you want to admit it or not. I work in DC with people from Georgetown, several Ivies, many different Big-10, SEC and ACC schools and so on, and the first thing that comes up when UNC-CHeats is mentioned is the scandal. Everyone understands that your $35 million defense was, "NCAA member schools can set their own standards and the NCAA can't challenge that. And our standards don't prohibit cheating for decades for athletes and non-athletes. No honor code at UNC prohibits that behavior."

Just watch.......... Jordan will write the check to get White or Little back and then UNC will be a title contender again.
Colby white has something about his game that doesn't look the part. I felt the same about lonzo Ball and he has yet to show his worth. White is way too loose with the ball in heavy traffic and when he's pressured

These rankings are about as worthless as when a bunch of liberal college professors rank the all time greatest presidents. You know these libs are never going to rank any conservative, republican high. It all depends on who's doing the rankings. Truth be known. There's probably a bunch of UNC grads doing the rankings for US news & world report.

Is this about chess and Mathletes? IN an age where college education is getting ripped apart and laughed at, UNC can keep their "ranking".. Kentucky can keep the titles.

Woods, Anthony, Robinson, Brooks, and Bacot with Manley, Huffman, and Black backing them up. Not a great team, but I'd say they are top 25. Kind of reminds me of a less athletic version of the team they had in 14/15 with Paige as the primary weapon.

Yeah, I have to agree with you. That doesn't look like a great team but they have a nice mix of upperclassmen returning and they might add a couple of grad transfers. Even after the past few seasons of watching UVA and Villanova win titles, and teams like Auburn making it to the Final Four, you think our fans would learn a lesson or two about discounting teams like this. But I guess some posters are too busy concentrating on recruit rankings.

Changes must be made in Kentucky Basketball recruiting, but I wont hold my breath.

Changes need to be made because Cole Anthony went to UNC?

Did you know we return a point guard next year who undressed UNC’s starting pg last season on national television?

Did you know that UNC pg went pro, but ours didn’t?

Did you know that UNC got smacked around in the Sweet 16, while we lost in OT in the Elite Eight?

Honestly, explain to us how Cole Anthony going to UNC is indicative of any kind of problem with UK recruiting. None of us will hold our breath.

Shocker! Trae Young 2.0. Gonna be a bumpy ride at times for UNC. They will have to live and die with him shooting 18 times a game. From what I have seen he doesn't like to pass and forces a lot of shots while being well defended. Might give Ole Roy another spill.

No one in NC is sending a kid to UNC Pembroke rather than Chapel Hill. They might caution their kids not to take African American Studies, but I doubt that was something in need of spelling out.

If UNC’s competition is Pembroke then that supports everything I’ve said and it was more than just AFAM. Boxill was asking to get players into the bogus studies but then she taught classes at UNC as well and it may have been ethics. You don’t really know what classes at UNC are legit because so many were involved in the scandal.

When the school found out they told the NCAA that the AFAM course met their standard. Even if they did that to avoid sports punishment you still have the leadership saying it was acceptable. Prestigious universities don’t do that, UNC’s academic reputation is as fraudulent as everything else they purported themselves to be.

He'll get 15 shots/game and keep Roy from the NIT next year, but they won't pose any real threat.

I hope Calipari schedules the cheats next year so Hagans can assault Cole the way he did Coby White.

Coby White improved his draft stock in his freshman year while Hagans didn’t.

Yeah, the scandal didn't really effect the overall reputation of the school.

But it absolutely was the end of 40+ years of sanctimonious, holier-than-thou bullsh** that UNC liked to promote. Because it certainly did effect the reputation of UNC athletics. The next time you want to talk about "the UNC way", any knowledgeable basketball fan is highly likely to laugh in your face.

Honor and UNCHEAT, Roy Williams or Dean Smith shouldn't be used in the same sentence, they don't know the meaning of the word.

I give ol' Roy a lot of credit for what he's done the last 5 years. UNC seemed to be suffering from a slow talent drain as UK and Duke came to dominate recruiting, but UNC hit a run of "really good for college, not so much for the NBA" talent that kept them at or near the top of the game.

But I have to think the talent drain is going to show next year. Ol' Roy has never thrived when having to replace huge chunks of a team, and he's losing his top 5 scorers from last year. Anthony will make them OK, but you look at that roster, and it's hard to see them as a top 10 threat.

But being able to avoid stress by not going to class enables them to focus on basketball, big advantage. :)

I listen to all the news shows, and eliminate everything they say as a lie, or paid opposition. What's left is the truth.

Ex) Russia did try to influence the election. Fact, we've been doing it to them for decades. What goes around.

Fact: The Steele dossier was Clinton oppo research. It didn't become important till Brennan, and Clapper tried to overthrow the election by using it to hamstring Trump.

Hillary's just a power mad money grubbing ***** who would ell her soul for either, but those two are trying for the tyranny of the righteous man, and if you never heard of that, you need to read outside your university approved crap. I suggest starting with Marcus Aurelius, and St. Augustine of Hippo.

That makes zero sense. You listen to all the news shows and eliminate everything they report, so nothing is left.

Do they have any transfers, because all I see returning are Woods, Robinson, Brooks, Manley, Black, Platek and Huffman. About 20 pts and 11 rebs combined. Even with Bacot and Anthony, that ain't winning squat.
