You have to be drunk lol.
It’s true that the experience would blow 2012 UK out of the water. If we get Cockburn, UK would have over 400 college starts on its roster. That might be an NCAA record. The 2012 team had about 135 starts on its roster going into the season. And about 80 of those were Darius Miller. Now I’m not arguing this team would beat 2012, but experience wise this is like nothing we’ve seen before in the Calipari era, not even close.

It’s not true that it doesn’t work anymore, neither the Bucks or the Sixers really live and die by the 3, both teams are championship contenders every year in the NBA which is even more offensive.

Virginia wins the ACC every other year without a good offense at all.
Virginia uses the blocker offense. Their efficiency rating is always very high. Look at the overall trend though and true double post offenses aren’t getting it done.

The main advantage I see for 2012 is AD. But on the whole this potential roster is deeper and much more experienced. This year's team will be a nightmare to defend.

I haven’t heard anything from the UK side that makes me think we would be the favorite. Any UK sources said anything lately? I’ve seen the tweet that said if he came back most thought he would go here but nothing from our norms

With Antigua and Chin, I wouldn't expect to hear much. This isn't the Joel Justus hotline days.

You either can’t read, or you’re drunker than the other poster.

"If you rearrange the letters in Kofi Cockburn it spells: Focckin UK Bro!"

Legendary.
Someone has too much time on their hands.

For me, I see his first name, and his SIZE, and think of the guy in the Green Mile movie, even though I imagine Kofi is pronounced differently.

Yup. Gotta make 3s. It's not an accident that the last UK championship team in 2012 hit a nice 37.8 percent of its 3s during the season but ramped it up to a red hot 42.8 percent in the six NCAA Tournament games.

I'm very intrigued to see how Cal can utilize two 260lb centers. This is more than just rebounding. Keep in mind that these two will likely clog the paint.

But it sounds like it's going to happen, it seems Oscar is fine with it, and if there's anyone who can pull this off, it's Cal. I'm ready to see it, even if that means I don't know how it works, exactly.
260?! Kofi is listed at 280-285. ESPIN had him listed in an article the other day at 298! 🤪

BLUE Team (22-24min)
Tyty
Mintz
Grady
Toppin
Cockburn

WHITE Team (16-18min)
Wheeler
Fredrick
Allen or Hopkins
Brooks
Oscar

bench: Collins, Allen or Hopkins, Ware

But players can work/earn their way up from bench to White or White to Blue, or down from Blue to White or White to bench.

Man if Collins is fighting to get into one of two lineups we will be stacked.

If we were to get Cockburn and we platoon, I would go:

G Washington
G Mintz
G Grady
F Brooks
F Cockburn

G Wheeler
G Fredrick
G Allen
F Toppin
F Tshiebwe

Those are two pretty balanced units.

Also, I could see Collins and/or Hopkins pushing Brooks or Allen to the bench.

Free throws too. That team hit a lot at a great clip.

You all are crazy if you think this roster is even in the same league as 15’. I’m excited about this team and they may be the most fun team to watch Cal has had here. However, with Cockburn I’d put it 5th or sixth in roster strength. With Duran I’d put it 4th or 5th. This team is loaded with good talent but not really high end talent.

Agreed.

2015 had four lottery picks.

I’m not sure this team has one first round pick.

No way Collins isn’t in the rotation. He has the highest upside on the roster.

As far as college success goes, this COULD be one of Cal's greatest teams… .COULD BE.

Yup, he had the Wall team, the Knight team, the AD team, the Randle team, the 2019 team, a couple good ones at Memphis and UMass, but just because guys had NBA lottery pick potential, doesn’t mean they were a great college basketball team.

There aren't too many people that can name Baylor's 2021 roster, Villanova's 2016 or 2018 rosters or Virginia's 2019 roster, that’s because there weren't any NBA all stars on those rosters. But, everyone remembers Cade Cunningham, John Wall, Zion, RJ Barrett, Anthony Edwards, Deandre Ayton and Ben Simmons.

Give me a team full of veteran college basketball players over NBA potential any day.

But lottery picks don't equal college basketball titles.

We need to stop putting so much weight on NBA draft picks and put more weight on college basketball players.

That 2015 team got beat by a good college basketball team. 2010 was loaded with NBA talent, got beat badly by a bunch of hard nosed college basketball players and a smart coach.

I'll bet absolutely anyone interested $1000 dollars that the 2021-2022 Kentucky Wildcats win fewer than 38 games.

This will be a steady, veteran, deep, balanced team, but it isn't even a top 5 Cal at UK team, much less the equal of the most dominant and ridiculous roster assembled in the modern era. Please stop that nonsense.

Yeah, hyping this team up like the 2015 group is setting yourself up to be disappointed.
Yep. I’ve definitely learned my lesson. Now, this team will probably shoot the ball better, especially from 3. Outside of that, I don’t think this team will match the 2015 squad in any other category, in particular defensively.
