Michigan just won a national championship 2 years ago. Florida St is competing with Florida and the U but also gets raided by everyone around the country. Nebraska has a small recruiting base in a small state. I’ll agree that nothing is guaranteed but Penn St is basically the only game in town along the entire East Coast.

The point was it's not automatic. You do have to rebuild.
As for Penn St being the only game along the entire East Coast. Isn't there a conference called the Atlantic Coast Conference? Nobody else recruits East and North of Pittsburgh? Even corn field-locked Iowa has 5 East Coast kids on the roster.
