Only four power 5 coaches out of 32 votes, I had no idea, but feel justified in not giving a rats *** about this poll.

I believe there’s only one B1G coach who votes in the coach’s poll, and that’s Matt Painter.

I have to assume he’s got RU in the top 25.
You Sir are correct!
Many of these teams have never played us.

The coaches usually have some flunkie fill this out for them. They don’t have time to sit around and watch games of teams they are not playing, that is why no one pays attention to the coaches poll.

On one level it does seem fair but also can understand why nobody pays any attention to this poll.

Many of the coaches voting probably haven't watched Rutgers games or even knew they defeated Purdue when they were ranked number 1.Perception always is a problem for programs like Rutgers getting traction with voters.

They almost certainly knew this. I mean, even if you are paying no attention whatsoever you are going to notice that the previously undefeated team that was ranked #1 in your poll now has a loss. And then you would probably look up who they lost to.

Most of the coaches probably haven’t seem the teams play so they vote base on prior reputation which Rutgers doesn't have.

These coaches are obviously paying some level of attention close to what the AP voters are considering that the top 12 in both polls match exactly, and the next 5 are a permutation of the same next 5 from the AP poll.

To go with my clown vote call outs for the AP poll (Ohio St, VCU, Texas A&M) I present the coaches' clown votes:

Tulane
Texas Tech
Texas A&M
Ohio St
Kentucky

VCU from the AP poll holds on as my clown vote of the week, just BARELY behind the Tulane vote. Though to be honest, none of these are as bad as some clown votes I have seen in the past.

One coach per conference, seems fine, I'm not really seeing the issue?

Don't want to get accused of "critizing the board" but....it's really funny.

G5 teams shouldn't be part of the coaches poll because they are so far removed from knowing the best teams in the country.

But NCAA Tournament needs to over represent G5 teams and can't expand because it only helps P5 teams.
