It will be great when Duke starts K's final season 0-1 ... after we beat them in the Champions Classic.
You know he will, Cal is a true politician under that hair dye and Armani suitsCal better not come out with some “farewell message to a good friend and ambassador to the game” BS.
Stevens appears to be done with coaching, period. Not everyone in the world is as fascinated with Stevens as a lot of you on this board. Duke is not going to hire a coach that did not play there. They are not going to hire Stevens.
Would be shocked if this didn’t happen.Brad Stevens heads to the Celtics front office and this happens the same day? Seems like more than just coincidence to me.
Like Wooden, if MK were to make the championship game ...nobody is beating them!A title was stolen from us by Wooden announcing his retirement right before the ‘75 championship game.
Only right that nature course corrects, finally, and we beat K in the championship game and send his *** into retirement with an L and make the media cry big, fat delicious tears.
Being a president of an NBA team is a far better gig. I can't imagine anyone being excited about coaching in college right now if they have NBA options.Stevens appears to be done with coaching, period.
Yeah a cheating POS who covered up rapes. Good riddance.End of an era. Say what you will of Coach K he was one of the great ones and was great for college basketball.

hey Brad.I'm sure the Brad Stevens move is shocking to some here. But it tells some of us exactly what we knew: The NBA is still the top gig, it's desirable, and trying to keep up with the rat race in the college game isn't all it's cracked up to be. Give me NBA rosters that may have primadonnas but less turnover, any day of the week.
Then prepare to be shocked, because that ain’t gonna happen.Would be shocked if this didn’t happen.
When Kobe was on his farewell tour it was so nauseating. I mean, my God, we get it. MLB did the same **** with Derek Jeter.Espn will be nauseating this year. More so than usual.
As a guy who hates the NBA and finds it so incredibly boring, I’d take it over constantly recruiting 18 year old primadonnas and their handlers and losing your roster every year.I'm sure the Brad Stevens move is shocking to some here. Well, 1-for-4 ain't terrible I guess, but the one was already publicly announced.K to Pasture
Brad to Duke (IU fans jumping off nearest bridge)
Cal to Boston
OA takes over UK.
Scheyer's got this, don't think he doesn't. It'll be like K never left. What happens when you are a one-trick pony and the pony dies?
The nerds of Cameron are about to find out. And the lesson will last decades.
At least the organization can’t gift players a title usually. I wish it was illegal for a coach to announce his retirement ahead of a season. When Kobe was on his farewell tour it was so nauseating. I mean, my God, we get it. MLB did the same **** with Derek Jeter.
This may even be worse.
But Terry Howard made it possibleYou’re right Arcadia for those old enough to remember they handed wooden the title especially the last game against us
Yep. I have zero doubt that’s coming. UCLA was a one-trick pony and they have one title in 45 years (zero in 26 years). What happens when you are a one-trick pony and the pony dies?

You still watch ESPN?Well we can't watch any basketball next season because it will be unbearable. We're talking about a sob-fest of staggering proportions. Imagine Mike Patrick all oiled up in salve being sacrificed by having his tear ducts carved out with Dick Vitale's collarbone. The misery awaiting college basketball is immeasurable and I will not watch ESPN for a full year henceforth.
Isn’t it a huge distraction all year? Takes the eyes off the team and placed directly on you. Announce it at the end of the season and be gone .At least the organization can’t gift players a title usually. I wish it was illegal for a coach to announce his retirement ahead of a season.
Much as I dislike Roy Williams, he did it the right way. No need for a farewell tour.
