I bet it's because of where you are playing. I believe Burns plays at KM and Lincolnton. Shelby gets them at home.

Most years NG is better than Cherryville but not as good as WL lately. Forestview’s records can be a little deceiving because they tend to over schedule themselves in non conference with much tougher programs. Forestview is better than most of the rest of your conference by a lot most years. FV usually have size and the lines and speed galore. NG is the only truly horrible team in the Big South. Huss in your conference would be a problem most years for the majority of your conference teams.
Because in Burns schedule they play Shelby who finished with 13 wins versus you guys who play Burns who finished with 7 wins.

Just talking about this year but I agree with your assessment. We did 7 on 7 Huss and Ashbrook, get you guys in the Jamboree, and play FV and NG so we get to see 5 out of the 7 teams. Again I am not trying to say anything negative about the Big South, a lot of respect for those teams. I only was stating that this year in my opinion that the separation between the top 4 vs the top 4 of our conference will be a lot closer than last year. I only brought it up to get some discussion since I know our conference is very weak after the top 4 but so is everyone else so conference schedule can be misleading. We also have 2 more teams in the conference to bring down a strength of schedule instead of being able to schedule 2 more out of conference opponents.
However I do realize this thread is 90% Crest or Shelby banging on each other and I poked my nose in the discussion. Shame on me.
If Crest can't get transfers from other schools they can't win. When was the last time Crest won a title without getting transfers especially from Burns. Probably 1994 and 1996.
Don’t apologize or feel bad about supporting your team. You guys are doing some great things at Cramer and expectations have grown. Trust me it’s always good to have expectations. I am excited to see how the four teams in your conference shakes out. I look forward to seeing you guys at the Jamboree.
Scrimmages do not matter and anyone basing a result on that for a season is wasting time.

Thought the same thing. Hell Burns isn’t even in the top 5 preseason in 4A. Maybe they know more than we do.
It’s a little bit grey though. Our geniuses in the NCHASS or however it’s abbreviated decided that we only get two non conference games which makes us play Crest and KM naturally. Crest and KM actually get more non conference games. Playing Weddington and Catholic is automatically going to boost their schedule strength and rankings. Nobody mentioned that part. Crest, KM and SP will be very good but I think even Ashbrook falls off this year to go with the rest of that bottom tier. The difference this year is their tough non conference games.
Crest playing Asheville and KM playing Bandys will without a doubt boost their ranking above ours. Did I mention I hate having this conference laid out like that?
We do suck at times and that is the reason we only have 20 STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS. Once again 20 STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS.
