Thanks for all of the great responses. Obviously he was before my time, but I always knew his name from my father. Pops wants this particular item, begging me for it. He's the biggest UK fan you'll ever see and turns 70 in a few months. I've got an old dad for my age.

Might just give it to him, or maybe not. He raised me to never let go of my STL or UK memorabilia. Not sure what to do.

Not me.
Claude described the game (and "talked" me into being a hardcore Cat fan).
But Cawood became family. Like Bill Keightley...not a celebrity but your favorite Uncle.
Crosley Field....echoes from the Vendors:
"Ice cold Hu-de-pohl Beer right here!"
"Hey...get moody with Hu-dee"
Hudepohl14k........have a hudy Dlight

I actually enjoyed him better than Cawood
I did too. Claude was just that good. I have an album called great moments in ky basketball and he does game excerpts on there and it gives me chills just listening to him again. Reminds me of when I was a kid listening. He was great. it's a shame he wasn't around longer.

I take it the Phoenix hotel was demolished?

Yea very rare piece I thought. His private copy, press edition, and the 59 season, after Rupp's fourth title.

Wish I could get Rupp to sign across the front.

Phoenix Hotel still standing as Lexington-Fayette Urban County government center.

That press guide is for the season after the 58 championship. That would be the 57-58 season.
