Mark Few?

For sure, I thought of him awhile after I posted that. But the point remains the same. Most of your elite final four caliber coaches are ******** by nature. Not every ruthless ******* is a winner, but most winners are ruthless ********…

For a program that’s bleeding assistant coaches and clearly circling the drain, that’s a pretty nice win for Creighton.

I enjoyed the last second slam and swinging on the rim by Jamiya Neal that’s an in your face to Danny Hurley for talking 💩 to Creighton fans after they won in Omaha a month ago. Never would have dreamt that Creighton would become a bloody rival with UConn

I don’t think Neal should have done that. But Screaming Gus Johnson lecturing a team about sportsmanship after he spent the whole game slurping on the nut sack of a raving lunatic ******* like Danny Hurley is downright hilarious.

I mean, Most husker fans could not handle Bo getting mad...They were "embarrassed" and ****, because they are huge bitches.

I am guessing Husker fans would cry about Fran too
Oh I’m sure many would cry about Fran and his demeanor. He is a lot like Bo in that way. But I’ll take the wins and deal with the craziness

I posted in another thread, Hurley was out at half court clapping at Creighton fans after their big run as well.

3-10 vs Creighton now? Explains why he loses his mind and acts unhinged when they play Creighton. I wish Nebraska could get that deep into an opposing coaches head 😆

Well to be fair, Hurley’s hinge pins are pretty loose when he’s playing New Hampshire Tech in November.

But somehow the Hurley brothers are just exempt from acting like civilized human beings.

I actually got a chuckle when he Neal did the ring gesture toward Hurley.

Neal transferred from Arizona St, where he played for Bobby Hurley, perhaps he just don't like Hurley's at all.

UConn fans on X calling Neal racially motivated names for the dunk and the ring gesture….all while they see no wrongdoing by their coach and his threats to beat up fans in Omaha 😆

McNeely was a jackass after their win in Omaha…..as was Hurley. I hate seeing unsportsmanlike stuff go on. But sometimes you ask for it. And UConn got it shoved back at them.

Name the 1st successful D1 basketball coach, that comes to mind, that doesn’t come off as a complete narcissistic *******? Maybe Jay Wright when he was at Villanova? Not a lot of “nice guys” making the final 4.
Speaking of, why not hire Greg Marshal? Guy is an absolute winner and program builder. How is he still out of coaching? That WSU was huge but Id have thought someone would pay him to actually coach.

Thing is Creighton hasn’t won anything yet so doing the ring thing to the back to back national champions coach was really lame.

Marshall is a pretty good coach and can recognize talent. But he’s as much a doueche bag as coach out there. He might even be worse that the Hurley’s. Probably why he’s not coaching now.

That's why I said speaking of, I've met him and dealt with him and his wife on a handfull of occasions.
Doueche he is, but pretty good coach is an understatement. Recognize and motivated talent supremely well. His teams played tough and smart basketball, were never out hustled. The 3-4 year run they went on, they were as good as any college team in America during that stretch.

What do you mean. Grab him, give me one reason he would come here.
Apparently he wants to play close to home. Maybe that means he goes to Creighton, but it's not a foregone conclusion.

If Fred can't at least be in the thick of the conversation for a player like Dix, YTF is he getting $5 million per year?

Hopefully he's going after this kid too....just throw a bag at every kid in the transfer portal that averaged 15+ points/game. I don't care what level, mid-major or not. We need guys who have shown they can score. None of the transfers we brought in last year were high scorers at their previous schools.

Great advice for Fred! Maybe he will share some of his 4.75 mil salary with you.

Was me, Bill started the big buy out from the get go, just like he did with Frost.
Trev actually reduced the buyout to 11 million when Fred took the pay cut. Before Last year. Then Last year happened and we went o the dance. They gave his pay back and extended him . It would have been interesting if Trev would have extended Fred or not ..now the buyout is like 20 million.

The buy out is 4.35M to 4.65M per year for the next 4 years to be exact, so if their going to keep him they need to use some of that for NIL money and build a better roster but that’s on Freddy.

I mean...dude had like 3 AA's at one time and did nothing.
Are you talking about college AA’s? I’m talking about the mostly nobody high school recruits that he turned into those stars. He also won 26 games and the conference tournament in 2022 with all 3 star recruits except for maybe one 4 star player. Aaron Uhlis (another 3 star) played more minutes for that team than he played this season for the Huskers if you let that sink in.

I don't think Garza was a huge recruit and I have no clue about the Murray bros...but that is who I was talking about.

Those guys turned into college stars and then of course, Fran did nothing with them in the dance.

Lost to Altman in the second round during Covid BS.

Sounds like Minnesota is going to hire the Colorado State coach, which would be a slam dunk hire for them. Then if Iowa gets McCollum and Indiana gets a good coach, this conference is going to get even harder to win in.

Murray brothers were 3 star recruits. Garza was the 104th ranked recruit as a 4 star. I’ll give you that losing to 12th seed Richmond in the first round of the NCAA was a bad game.

All I’m saying is I don’t see high odds that the school does better than Fran. I’m not even saying Fran is great, but he did generally overachieve considering the sub par recruiting, which is clearly capped at least in part by the school and its funding/support.

Interesting he got fired. Based on his resume', it looks like he has been just as successful as Ferentz. Guessing he's gone because he isn't nearly as nice as Kirk is.

Really came down to fan apathy and lack of butts in seats. Overall through Fran’s tenure Iowa got a pretty good ROI in regard to what Iowa invested in the BB program vs where Fran finished in the conference. Attendance was pretty miserable this year with numerous home Big games with less than 5,000 ticket scans.
