Josh Dix is not a star, but he's Jerry Freaking West compared to any guards on NU's roster. Grab him.

This was evident yesterday with Fran’s response to getting ejected, he walked off the court looking like he had no care in the world . As I said previously beating Nebraska last Sunday only delayed his firing.
Look for them to get DeVries in there unless McDermott leaves Creighton for Indiana then Creighton will be battling for DeVries as well. Regardless our competition in Iowa City is bound to get better.

So we still good with Fred? Need to evaluate where Iowa is as a program?

this would've been a good story last year when he was still coaching at Drake

How does his accomplishments compare to Fred’s?
The only reason fred is still here is because his buyout is so big because nebraska is a bunch of f****** idiots when they give out extensions to bad coaches, they've done it for years now.

A lot of good coaches out there with strong Iowa ties - DeVries, McCollum, Jans, Forbes. They had to make this move now to get one of them.

We should be starting fresh right now too. They (iowa) probably will take a step back results wise the next year or two before their new coach finds his stride. Meanwhile will be trying to ride out Fred’s bloated contract and then 1-3 years later (after almost 10 years of Fred sucking) the administration will finally decide they’re ready to start over. Right about the same time Iowa’s new coach is finding his stride. (If of course iowa makes a quality hire)

Can someone create a GIF with Fred treading water barely keeping his nose above water while the rest of the conference rips around him on new jet skis blowing water in his face? Just curious... I don't have that ability. It was a random thought.

The buy out is stupidly ridiculous. Bill must have been hitting the sauce when he wrote the contract out.

Nebraska's history of coaching extensions has been about as successful as Kodak deciding to not pursue digital photography.

Like when Blockbuster video said streaming was just passing fad… “People want to hold the movie they purchased in their hand.”

"Just goes to show you, beating a lousy Nebraska team will still get you fired." "You agree? You don't disagree."

So we lose a crazy man in the league? Cool. I’ve mentioned previously that we need to quit offering extensions to coaches who have either none or minimal success. We’re so stupid sometimes. I like Fred. I think he’s a good dude. But we need someone with more fortitude coaching this team.

Name the 1st successful D1 basketball coach, that comes to mind, that doesn’t come off as a complete narcissistic *******? Maybe Jay Wright when he was at Villanova? Not a lot of “nice guys” making the final 4.

Creighton I could see - that is a certain upgrade

Iowa is not a better job than WVU
Iowa is DYING to hire him but not sure if the family ties will be enough (if you are talking about Devris)

Iowa is a bad job, another poverty program in the Big Ten, basically a MAC school that just happened to be in the Big Ten 100 years ago.

Jays are already done, they were done after last season. The new AD hates Mac and Mac hates the new AD.

7 NCAA tournaments in 15 years? It would be like the 2nd coming of Danny Knee for Nebraska, I’d take it
I mean, Most husker fans could not handle Bo getting mad...They were "embarrassed" and ****, because they are huge bitches.

I am guessing Husker fans would cry about Fran too

I think Jay Wright is one of the few solid guys that was successful. Bruce Pearl at Auburn and Kelvin Sampson at Houston are two of biggest slime balls in college basketball. I don’t care if those teams make the final four I would be embarrassed to have representing our Alma mater.

The extension was an even bigger mistake. And that’s on the shoulders of an interim AD who never should have had access to the big boy checkbook.

Not a lot of nice guys win anything in the history of humanity

One reason I think our current football coach has an extremely limited ceiling

If I’m playing the odds I’m thinking Iowa will not do much better than Fran and their program likely regresses. Fran got a lot out of a bunch of nobodies.
