Yea they're all future scientists and engineersGone are the days when John Thompson at GT had a deflated basketball on his desk and would ask what players are going to do with their lives after the ball stops bouncing.
Godswill a finance major with relationships at SHU. I guess he will continue his degree elsewhere?![]()
Ok internet tough guy. Here is the deal if you have a brain: Every program Rick Pitino has taken over at the college level has won. Period. Go look it up. No matter the era, conference, high major or mid major. Here’s the deal. UConn was good before NIL. St John’s sucked, even with Pitino. They’d suck again without Repoli.
Well, I don’t know their financial situation. What I do know is that every school pays players now. Yet our BE team discussions are about the actual basketball with one exception. But keep trolling on the #PDS.Sorry I hit a nerve but I’m just stating the obvious. If St John’s didn’t have Repoli bankrolling their roster they’d be in the same position as we are. Pitino or not. UConn is in a whole different stratosphere because they are a state school in a league with all private schools. They also have a bunch of Repoli’s. Most recently, Robert Skinner.

Fair point, except I recall seeing him graduating from Seton Hall in a photo with other player/grads. I think his wife graduated from St. Peter's as well. And if players like Davis don't get degrees---- for "free"--- shame on them and the univeristy for not staying on track for five years. The difference is he probably doesn't have a college degree that is really marketable or high earnings potential. It was a one off for him.He wasn't getting drafted by an NBA team. He got 85k from the Nets as a free agent after getting cut.
You think this is really worse now than 20/30/40 years ago? Most of them will be just fine don’t worryFair point, except I recall seeing him graduating from Seton Hall in a photo with other player/grads. I think his wife graduated from St. Peter's as well. I do think about what many of these one-and-dones will be doing in 8-10 years. Maybe working as a substitute teacher, but most districts require a degree for that. Maybe coaching a JV high school team or working in an after-school program at the local Y.

Wrong on the first. No one is saying Repoli is evil. That’s 23 changing the narrative just like his continuous rants on Tiny, Gaze & TT. Here’s a couple of boosters to start with. If you want any more I’ll have to send you an invoice.
Mark D’Amelio
Robert Skinner
Please also keep in mind that UConn is the only school I know of in conference that uses NIL the way it’s supposed to be used.
