It's obvious to anyone watching that Chris Partridge is an excellent recruiter, and he takes special pride in punishing Rutgers due to his failed hiring by Flood. Is it time to make him a high-paid Rutgers assistant?

I think that ship has sailed. Flood should have stuck to his guns and hired the guy but that was Flood. Would love to see Charlie Partridge or Bobby Acosta as the 10th coach.

sh*t, even I could be a good recruiter at Michigan. RU is a tougher sell. That being said, Partridge has had a year of experience in Michigan and would be a welcome addition with NJ roots to RU's staff. But you assume he'd come here, even with a position coach salary.

Let's just win on the field and the recruiting will take care of itself. Right now he's impacting a little, but it's mostly with the PC recruits not many other schools.

Please list who he recruited for Michigan this year from the state of NJ. I must be blind.

Edit: Next list every recruit he helped recruit from NJ that wasn't coached by him.

24/7 just named him recruiter of the year, FWIW

and he was 2016 Scout recruiter of the year too..

The guy can recruit (and coach too). Maybe one day he will find his way to the banks but its going to cost a pretty penny.

Flood's ego couldn't take the fact that the guy didn't accept the job offer on the spot.

Isn't that how Flood got all those kids to decommit too. He basically said if you commit you can't visit other schools.

Not trolling... who did he recruit this year other than Singleton?

Nope. Concerned that we need to take him away from Michigan.

Lets face it, Michigan was cherry picking NJ talent way before Partridge was hired. With him, NJ has become a more targeted area.

RU should worry about the mid to high 3* NJ players and the 4* players that want to stay in NJ. There's no point in trying to recruit 4* NJ players that don't show interest in RU from the very beginning.

I also think that RU should think about getting an identity, such as a strong dominating offensive line, like Wisconsin. I think this strategy would work.

Just my $0.02...

You don't buy a Ferrari because of the ad, it sells itself. Same with Michigan. You could be the biggest schmuck in the country and get kids to go there. Rutgers doesn't need a used car salesman.

He is not leaving mich but why on earth did we not hire him???? No brainier at that time especially.
Great question. Everyone's memory seems to be a bit failing lately. This guy was the most hated coach in North Jersey. Flood did in fact hire him, then the other North NJ parochial coaches threw a nutty, swearing up and down they would never send another kid to Rutgers as long as Partridge was on staff. Flood pulled his job offer, and Harbaugh snapped him up to get in with Rashan Gary. What did he care if it annoyed Rich Hansen and Greg Toal?

Exactly. I'm very surprised that some of our fans are so blind to see that it makes no sense burning a bridge with a guy who will, for the foreseeable future, be an important character in college football and Nj high school football -

Jersey produces really good coaching talent, and for someone to do what he did up at PC is kind of crazy. He toppled a very old order of power in a few years.

It would be awesome if him and ash got their **** together and would work on the same staff. That would be partridges shortcut to a DC position and Ash would get the recruiting benefit he will need in a couple years (and actually be getting a good coach too).
They are both former linebackers... do linebackers like working with other linebackers ?

Wayne and Camden (of which some didn't even qualify)

Revisit this list when you can list Bosco and St. Peters Prep kids - which are schools that have actually sent quality recruits to Rutgers.

As mentioned before, Rutgers isn't gonna burn the Bosco/SPP relationship for what he accomplished in NJ outside of Paramus.

While that may be true, Harbaugh is the real real reason these kids choose Michigan. fact is he has zero influence in New Jersey outside of PC and got one other kid in the tristate area. He would be little to no help to Rutgers.
