Lol are you kidding me 2 years out of HS football

There are high school coaches who have accomplished less that were given head coaching gigs their first year in college.
Partridge can 100% be a defensive coordinator at a top program and most likely will be within a few years.

Of course, Rutgers can just sit on the sideline and watch it all pass us by too. Sounds like that's what certain fans are getting ready to do

He has to be doing something right. Where the hell did Paramus Catholic come from? How did he get all the kids to go there over Bosco and Begen Catholic?

He can coach DB's, LB's and can coordinate a defense. He was a good linebacker himself and that's his best position to coach.

The big north parochial league runs schemes that are closer to college level than they are to hs level. A lot of those coaches can easily make the jump to the NCAA

Assuming what?

Everyone one of your comments in that post was an assumption.
- kids only go to mich because of harbaugh (not true)
- partridge has little impact outside of jersey (not true, he has been the lead recruiter for kids all over America)
- he would be no help at Rutgers (how in the world would we know? One of the hottest recruiters in the country, a jersey guy , wouldn't be a help to New Jersey's football team?)

Maybe he could coordinate a defense...at the high school level. The man has coached at the college level for basically one year with a bunch of upperclassmen including peppers that basically knew what to do. I am in no way convinced he can be an above average position coach or even average.

We had campanile coaching wr's and frankly he wasn't that good. After carroo, who was almost ready made coming out of h.s., he did his best to develop 0 effective wr. He is part of the reason grant had 1 total receiving TD his entire career and part of the reason Patton, agudosi, and tsimis were so ineffective. The north parochials are still high school level..There is a massive difference between them and the big ten.

People have to start somewhere. He succeeded at high school, he succeeded in recruiting, who knows whether he can coach college. I don't know why you're so sure he cant. All coaches start somewhere. PJ Fleck was a wide receiver coach at Northern Illinois at one point. Now he's a P5 HC. People have to start somewhere.

You say assuming but it's my opinion based on facts. Couple of thoughts, 1. I said he had zero impact in NJ this year outside of PC. That's a fact. He signed 1 guy from CT and 1 NJ guy who happens to be from PC. Michigan missed on plenty of tristate players this year. 2. Partridge clearly is not liked by many of the top NJ schools. Which is a fact, but it's my opinion that he would not help Rutgers much do to his damaged reputation with those top schools.

My only concern with bringing Partridge in is this -- he is regarded as a sleazebag. That would have to be weighed against the fact that he seems to have an uncanny ability to sweet talk 4 and 5 star athletes. I agree Michigan makes his job recruiting easier, but there is no dispute that he is an excellent recruiter, and has inroads with some powerful Jersey high schools.

It's obvious to anyone watching that Chris Partridge is an excellent recruiter, and he takes special pride in punishing Rutgers due to his failed hiring by Flood. Is it time to make him a high-paid Rutgers assistant?

Are you serious?

You don't buy a Ferrari because of the ad, it sells itself. Same with Michigan. You could be the biggest schmuck in the country and get kids to go there. Rutgers doesn't need a used car salesman.

Rich Rod must have been the biggest schmuck in the country then.

Why didn't RU hire him?

When state champion Paterson Catholic closed their door in 2011, during his second year, a lot of players needed homes. AQM and Shumate went to Bosco and pretty much everyone else went here , or Depaul. I think it was 18 players in all
Paterson has a very good youth football program and that became the pipeline. At a minimum Clayton and Bolds ( i dont know all the names ) The following year peppers came over and that was that.
Very much very right place at the very right time

You are assuming my friend
Really? You arent even close you called Partridge one hell of a recruiter (and one hell of a coach) and then when someone says the real reason is Harbaugh u say they assuming! lol i cant even begin to think how clueless you are,

First of all Partridge did not recruit Peppers to Michigan he was goin anyway, cp just latched on to him, and as far as Gary and Singleton he didnt really recruit either becaus he was their high school coach!!! Its not like he developed a relationship and recruited these kids out of nowhere, it was a lay up...then Partridge has Jim Harbaugh, who was succesful NFL coach, Michigans facilities, Michigans donor money, Jordan brand and being the #3 team in the country a play away from the cfp playoff...you dont think u can put any schmuck in there to recruit...you are givin cp wayyyyy too much credit...

Personally, I think it is time to put more focus on getting high end recruits from out of state. Instead of building inside out, build outside in. Too many drama queens in NJ. Hope to snare a Clark, Lewis and Melton type instate each year but get over the top with out of state kids and then the instate followers will come.

I have no idea how "good" a recruiter Partridge is - although someone in the "know" seems to think he is. I'd also like to add the Michigan DC (Don Brown) has a lot of ties to the northeast, although he's only been on staff one season.
