Alright I guess De'Runnya is next up. But he has already gotten pulled over with pot so he is gonna have to "up his game"----like maybe Peyote, Mescaline, or Krokodil. Yeah that should do the trick!**

Wonder what kind of ride Jones was sporting? Profiling is still alive and well in Mississippi. Young black man in a fancy ride=something wrong. Gotta keep the social order!!!!! Ridiculous. 2 in the past week.

Wonder what the suspended license was for?

It seems like more times than not when athletes are pulled over, they get pegged for suspended license. How hard is it to just pay your fine and reconcile it with the DMV, geez..

Bingo and that's the potentially bigger story of it was something other than unpaid traffic tickets.

Was Campus PD profiling me when I was pulled over on campus two nights ago after leaving the baseball game for doing 30 on a 20mph speed limit? Didn't know they had interest in getting the white, fat, and receding hairline man.

I may be a biased fan but it annoys me that the media has to have a "BREAKING STORY" for someone having a suspended license. The DUI I get. But a suspended license - come on.

There was a time when you saw breaking news flash across the screen, something big was going down - bombs were being dropped, a wall was coming down, a public figure had been shot, etc. Now its almost as if the POTUS's dog getting its toe nails clipped qualifies.

CL said it was for an unpaid PARKING ticket from Dec 2015...........

Stopped for speeding and driving with a suspended license by MSU police.

Seriously? They suspend your DL for a single 3 month old parking ticket? Where did he park, on top of somebody? I remember when I was at state in the 80s, there were day students with several hundred dollars of unpaid $5 parking tickets and they just withheld grades. I don't remember anybody losing their license.

This arose as a product of schools using this stuff as a tool to tear down rival programs and has morphed into it being a news story every time a player from a top school farts in church.

According to the CL he was stopped for speeding but the suspension was for a parking ticket.

Direct cut and paste from CL story:

"Jones was stopped at 2:22 p.m. on Blackjack Road by Mississippi State University police and couldn't produce a valid license. He was arrested and charged with speeding and driving with a suspended license. Bond was set at $922, which was met and Jones was released.

Jones' license was suspended because of an unpaid parking ticket from December 2015."

CL could be wrong I suppose but then I have no idea about that. Just going by what I read.

It was indeed an unpaid speeding ticket from December. He left town getting ready for the combine, etc. and frankly just let it slip his mind. The notice that it was unpaid went to an old address so it just never registered again. The speeding ticket has been paid and all is right with the world. I mean, he'll have to do a few years in prison to pay his debt to society for this atrocity, but otherwise it's all good.

They will suspend your license for unpaid parking tickets. It's really the only way they have to enforce them. Most cities will send you a letter telling you how much you owe and give you until a certain date to pay your outstanding tickets or they'll suspend your license. I've gotten a couple of those letters in the past, and when I did, I paid what I owed.

That's what get's me, really a "breaking story" I read all news online, and headlines are generated for webpage views I guess, and I guess that shows how dis-regarded traditional news outlets have become (or one sided and untrustworthy)......

Other than that, don't let fines linger C. Jones, pay your tickets promptly, or your stuff is put out there, dangling in the wind for all to see!!!

John Oliver did something about municipal violations...

Pretty much what would have happened to him if he was 5'9" 170lb Chris Jones from Houston, MS.

What I really love is the breaking news of MSU football player PJ Jones getting arrested in Tupelo for possession of paraphernalia and a few other measly things. I guess I don't see why that's newsworthy at all since it's been almost 1.5 years since he was part of the team, and it's not like he was a star player.

I mean, it's one thing if a former player gets arrested for a legitimate crime and will be likely serving jail time. But reporting on something that'll result in a $1,000 fine is ridiculous.

I was going off of Bonner's tweet where he said unpaid speeding ticket. I'm shocked that the CL has two different versions.

I actually think it's more newsworthy if Ross Bjork wears that red sportcoat again.

Even if a speed tic, I am surprised they issued a warrant so quickly....

Its only been 2.5-3 months at most. Sometimes you don't even get a court date that quickly.

Definitely a messed up, regressive system. First, an excessive flat fine, and then by suspending the license you take away the ability of the poor to continue working to pay the fine.

Its basically a government sponsored payday loan if you can't pay immediately.

This is what bothers me about Bonner. Not the facts, but the presentation.

It's like he pretends that 90%+ of his followers are not MSU fans. He words things in ways he HAS to know will rub us the wrong way. He does this all the time. He also argues with people like Brian (and his MSU fan followers) about really petty things.

Yeah I'm white and the whole profiling thing doesn't explain the multiple times I've been pulled over for speeding. I suspect it has more to do with the fact that he was speeding and not because he was a black dude in a fancy ride.

Maybe you haven't gotten a traffic ticket lately...
