I highly doubt Frost fires Chinander, but I hope I’m wrong. I think Scott goes down with the ship....he’s too loyal to fire him even though Chins is truly awful.
Hope you're right, nut have my doubts. Why? Those statements about their schemes work, blah, blah, blah.....Frost will make the hard choices. He cares about getting Nebraska back to the top as any fan does.
Unless Frost is a better scam artist than Riley in saying how much he cares about the program, I think he'll put the program ahead of any assistants he has including Chinander.I highly doubt Frost fires Chinander, but I hope I’m wrong. Not just Chins. In the 3 games prior we scored a total of 3 td's. Call Walters *** out as well.
There isn't 1 defender that I'm sorry is leaving. D line has zero ability to get past a double or even single block. Even Mo Barry has been exposed this year.Consider: we lose our entire starting DL and our starting MLB. Who is replacing them? GULP

Truth hurts. If he keeps Chinander around two more years, Frost will be on the hot seat in year 5 with potentially a new DC at the helm.
Thats a lot of ifs obviously. Assuming Frost has the guts to get rid of his best friend which I seriously doubt.
Don’t look now but Bill’s peekin’ in his top drawer. At what point does Moos get involved?
I dont like chin either, but man you got a hard on for frost.
Frost is fine with a defense that gives up 38 points, because he expects to score 50+ points a game. That's the Chip Kelly/Oregon philosophy.
Unfortunately, we play in the Big Ten, not the AAC or Pac-12, so I'm not sure that is a smart strategy.
If Vedral doesn't absolutely kill us with that fumble and we go up 21-9, this thread doesn't get made.
Doesn’t get made until next week.
Chinander is not a Vedral fumble away from being a good defensive coordinator.
No, he's not. But that was the turning point in the game. All went downhill from there .

Agree and you could see all the momentum vanish with that fumble, it was like hear we go again, I noticed it in the body languageNo, he's not. But that was the turning point in the game. All went downhill from there .
Or change defenses and do what the rest of college football does
Hey man can’t believe we’re agreeing on a lot of things. You think if we start arguing about something the team will snap out of it?WinkingIf Vedral doesn't absolutely kill us with that fumble and we go up 21-9, this thread doesn't get made.

Iowa fan here- I come in peace- from where I sit- the D is better than last year- but the overall system SF plays doesn’t do any d coordinator any justice. Too many possessions.Only held a team under 30 2 out of the 16 power five games here since Chins arrived.

Naw ain’t worth the energy. Thumbs up to ya. Guess the team will have to sink thenLol who knows at this point?
It like a hitter in baseball that in a 0-30 slump in hitting, it really hard to get out of itWe have that losing mentality. First punch we take we’re doomed. The young guys (Wandale and McCaffrey) are ballers but our upperclass men are settling for that magical 6 win season (as of now it ain’t happening).
What's that? Having someone shadow the quarterback so he can't continually run for first downs? Have someone on defense who can prevent other teams from converting long second and third downs? I thought we had better talent on defense, but it's obvious that I was mistaken.Or change defenses and do what the rest of college football does
have to change the scheme.. can't run aggressive defense when your offense isn't running on all cylinders. that is on Scott.
the aggressive scheme is to go after the ball.. to strip it, to try to get a turnover.. when you see the guy running down field and our defenders trying to strip the ball rather than tackle the player.. that is what I mean. They are taking big risks (no fear of failure thing) to try to get turnovers, and the result is, you get burned a lot and give up points, but the upside is, you should also get the ball a few extra times for your offense to score. Its all based on giving the offense more chances to go score quickly. The aggressive defense is not trying to limit the opponents score at all, but trying to get more opportunities for the offense.I have no clue how you can call this D aggressive. I guess if you say it enough it becomes true.

Defenders are too slow...as in incredibly slow...overall
Not sure we have anyone on the D capable of shadowing and containing a QB
I am not a Chinander fan, but we should cut him a bit of slack. Look at our Senior and Junior classes and ask yourself who on defense would play significant minutes for Ohio Stae, Penn State, Wisconsin or Michigan. The honest answer is NONE!!! WITH OUR RECRUITS THE PAST TWO YEARS AND THIS YEAR'S, IMPROVEMENT SHOULD SHOW UP IN 2 YEARS. IF NOT HE GONE!!!I feel like Chinander is an average D coordinator at best. His team's poor fundamentals, technique, simple concepts that can be adjusted against without counter adjustments are just a few reasons. If our team is going to take that next step we need a high level coordinator. We have the resources, name recognition, facilities coming, and tradition to pull just about whomever we want.

Agreed. Poorly coached unit. They don’t communicate, no accountability, nothing.
I’m done with the Chin experiment. Scott won’t fire him though, so let’s hope he takes a job elsewhere.
The sad part is that we have one of the most experienced defenses in the Big Ten. How bad will we be next year when we're one of the most inexperienced?
