There are some interesting posts in this thread. Somehow, it is now wrong to want a more traditional team, you know, the kind that has players stick around til they're actually ready to leave. I have news for some of you. Cals way has lasted for 6 years. UK has been a power for 70 years. It is ok to dislike Cals philosophy and results. It's fine too for you guys to love Cals philosophy and results. We're all fans. Why do some of you constantly attack posters who dont share your love for this endless revolving door? Attack me if you want, but you're wrong for acting like that. If you want to start another 4 pages of this, have at it.
The OAD Era has been around for only 10 years. Why can't people understand this? Before that, players stayed 3 or 4 years because the top 10 recruits went straight to the NBA and the 10-20 recruits went after 1 or 2 years in college.
Now the top 10 recruits are going to school and that is almost exclusively who we are recruiting. These recruits were never ready to go at 18 or 19 years old, it's just that they were allowed to go 11 years ago.
You're the same type of fan that bitched and moaned when we didn't go to the final 4 for nearly 15 years and all of the elite talent went to duke, unc, Kansas and Florida.
If you want a traditional team that sticks around until they are ready, then be prepared to watch a program with an elite 8 as a ceiling. In other words, please leave the fanbase.
