Than likely a mutual parting and a possible
Indicator of traction with Young. Moore missed a lot of games this year and I don’t believe there were injuries involved.

I also heard we were making really good progress with Byron Young. Brushed it off when I heard it. You may be onto something.

Didn't Fabien Lovett decommit too? Not the end of the world with JoMo at the helm. If Danny was coach, I'd say yeah he's gone for sure.

Unfortunate since he is local and talented.

That post didnt exactly scream drama though. It cites why he is going to keep his options open- he wants to consider the potential post-grad opportunities various schools offer.
Thats something more people should do- Its one reason why so many for-profit colleges have lost financing- lack of post-grad opportunities.

That sounds like other schools are giving him some kind of "guarantee" about what kind of job he will get after football (or at least strongly hinting that they will set him up whereas MSU will not). Or possibly he talked to a past football player at state and they said they weren't taken care of; or possibly he talked toa past football player from another school that was taken care of and he is alleging that Moore won't be taken care of the same way if he goes to state.

Not a crazy thing to consider. If another school is basically promising him post graduation benefits, that's probably better than the upfront money most recruits are considering, except that if it doesn't materialize, he's not going to have any remedy.

I don't see the drama surrounding this one. The word that's been out for a while is that he's a bit of a head case, he doesn't want to work hard, and he's a diva. He doesn't sound like the right fit to me. I'd rather go find another Braxton Hoyette who will come in here and work his *** off.

As far as his comments, well, he's a high school kid. We all were once, and some of us are raising at least one now. They think they know everything, but they actually don't know a damn thing. They are also easily manipulated and gullible. Someone has gotten into his ear and told him he will have more post-college job opportunities somewhere else.

The news here, if you are paying attention, is that this is how other schools recruit against us. "Bigger alumni base, more job opportunities post-grad," etc. Most of the bigger recruits probably already have a guaranteed job after graduation.

This is one I'm not losing any sleep over. I don't think this kid has the work ethic to play on our d-line.

If football doesn’t work out, he’s most likely going to move back to Louisville. The hometown kid who plays for the college up the road is more likely to get job opportunities than the kid who bounces and goes out of state.

My thoughts exactly, the reasons he gave FOR decommiting from MSU are the reasons a lot of kids choose to stay closer to home. If he goes to Florida, LSU, FSU, etc and flames out do you really think any of the folks there are going to really care one way or the other about what happens to him or his family? Its usually the people that are friends with your family, that supported you through high school and into college that will be looking to help you out if the football avenue goes sour. This dude basically grew up 25 miles from Starkville. Can't see anywhere better than MSU for having the connections and loyalty of people after college for jobs and opportunities if he doesn't end up with an NFL career.

If he is worried about getting hurt, then maybe he isn't cut out for football. Simmons played in a meaningless bowl game (and played well) and risked injury before the combine and draft. Simmons is a man and a dang good football player. We want more players like him.

Well hasn't he already suffered a severe injury? Given that, I'm sure its certainly something he would consider. Even if he doesn't get hurt I'm not sure he is at the level that the NFL is by any means a certainty. He is not on the Simmons level.

Moore has been going to Auburn for the last two months. Anyone shocked by this hasn’t been paying attention. The only thing that would shock me is if he doesn’t go to Auburn.

Also, this brings up a good point. Anyone who doesn’t sign with the school they are “committed” to on early signing day isn’t committed to that school. Make what you want of that.

We lose more ground during recruiting dead periods and HS all-star games than any school around. At least Thursday ends the dead period.

I’ll just say this. Our coaches aren’t upset about this at all. We didn’t drop him because he’s from Louisville and he’s really talented but our coaches weren’t and aren’t going to fight any school for him. This is straight from a coaching staff member.

I’m sure they’re tickled. Dude showed out at the UA game and is being recruited heavily because he is a stud. What coaching staff wouldn’t wanna lose a guy like that? And while I know he isnt coming to state, I’m sure the coaching staff appreciates you letting him know they didn’t want him anyway.

He decommitted for a reason...

I had heard rumblings a couple of months ago that he may need to keep his options open....I dont think Moorhead and crew were all that crazy about him....I could be wrong, just what i heard....5 star as a sophomore and junior, gets hurt, bumped down to 4 star, and had a less than stellar senior season....I wasn't at all shocked to see his decommitment given that info....

Go ask Fletcher Cox, Chris Jones, Preston Smith, Pernell McPhee and Denico Autry what kind of opportunities they received after playing at State (you can add Simmons and Sweat to that group in a few months). If Cousin Eddie is using this as an example of lack of opportunities, he is using the WRONG position group. If Moore was a WR, then it might make sense.
I get what you are saying but, wasn’t Cousin Eddie the coach that got them to where they are?

I guess that could be deduced from his message, but it would take a lot of interpretation and assumption to do so.
Many in this thread are convinced he is on the take and being bought. Sure thats a possibility, but this isnt even smoke so why claim there is a fire?

Go back and read the post and my response should make sense to you.

Also, yes....Mullen's staff did help advance these guy's careers. I guess you could say the same for his WRs as well. (BTW....other than Dak, how many of Mullen's offensive players are in the NFL?)

Ceramics. That was it. I am pretty sure his first name was Wallace. I really wanted to have him come in for the interview just so everyone could laugh at him. I assumed he was about 30 lbs overweight, dark brown hair with fair skin, a flushed red spot on his cheeks all the time, and really likes to wear fleece vests.

Unfortunately the Aggies were still in the big 12 and
all the A&M grads I worked with had not developed a disdain for the Ole Miss crowd yet so I couldn't bring him in to 17 with him. By 2013, I think they all would have been on board... Truly a golden opportunity in my life squandered. I mean a freaking ceramics major...

At one time, you could major in Ceramics at MSU.

Actually, it was the Department of Ceramic and Metallurgical Engineering, which is basically Materials Engineering. Don't know if they still have that major or not.
