They all make mistakes on D - Alken is the only automatic pull
The play after Allen got beat Wheeler got shook up top and guy busted a 3
Of course he stays in
Brooks sucks around the basket missed 3 straight- of course he stays in
Cal hates him some Allen there is no doubt
Yeah, you’re right. Cal hates kids. Some of you all are ridiculous

So Brooks can throw up any shot he wants, Wheeler gambles on a steal and gives up a three, Grady gets lost and gives up a wide open shot…but Allen you’re out!
Again, you all are right. Cal hates Allen. No doubt. He should be ashamed of himself.

Brooks just isn't a guy that can be grimy in traffic under the basket and ever find the bottom of the net. Its like he doesn't have the energy and power/athleticism to outmuscle and get it in, doesn't have the touch to just get a funky shot to ever drop, and doesn't have the patience or craftyness to fake and lay in or draw fouls.

The ball is either going to bounce off his legs and feet, get stripped away, or be frantically clanked off the rim or backboard.
He needs to stick to mid-range jumpers/set shots when he has space. He’s not good in close quarters.

Glad we get our 7th game of these out of the way after the next game. Does absolutely nothing for us playing so many of these.

It might not test the team.. but they have value for a team that's this new. Build confidence and don't take unnecessary early losses.

I don't love how easy this schedule is.. but I see the value it has.

More talented players get a longer leash. It’s been that way since the beginning of time. I don’t get why y’all are so surprised by this.

Remember when Rupp had 23 K every game. I know it's vital that we play all the friends of the head coach. Doesn't seem that many people are into it other than Ellen and a few others.

Another funny thing is people were saying these games were scheduled three or four years ago. Yeah we knew Barbee was going to Central Michigan back in 2019.

Good shooting is still good shooting.
That is true. But I doubt they would be getting the kind of looks they are getting against a team with a pulse. And we know how bad of a coach C.Mich has. I don't mind them playing 3-4 games against these type teams. Everyone does that but they have 6 really bad teams out of 7. Ohio being the exception. I am happy they are playing great and not losing at half like last years team. Just a little worried this schedule isn't preparing them for SEC play.

Allen in at 4:25, Allen out at 3:08.

When you’re up 45-19. This is what people are taking about when pointing out Cal’s peculiar treatment of Allen. And why did he come out? Caught in a switch with the PG, let him throw a lob in the lane causing a Ware foul.

It’s almost as if Cal is determined not to let Allen ever be the leading scorer again. Very strange.
You should coach them

Well, we good decent looks on Friday and lol. We just didn’t hit them.

We will play ND and Ohio St. Conference will be hard as always. Nothing can really prep you for that per se. Because those coaches KNOW what you’re going to be doing for the most part. Just have to go out there and play touch with energy.

Just checked in.
I see we are only up by almost 30 at halftime, so I assume someone must be fired and a player benched until infinity.
Who?

They make a point, but I’m beyond trying to understand Cal’s logic Actually, I don’t think Cal uses logic, but rather reacts. He’s got too many players deserving of minutes. When competition gets better, the rotation will tighten quite a bit.

So he makes a mistake on D and he comes out? I don’t see a problem with that. Especially in a game like this.
Wheeler caused the switch. Wheeler went up to Cal at the whistle to chat about it. Wheeler walked toward the bench thinking that’s where he was headed. Then Cal motioned to Allen to take a seat.

Furthermore did other players not make bad plays in that stretch? Yes, they did. On successive possessions Grady missed a wide open three and turned the ball over. The point is that this kid, even in a game where you’re up 25, gets pulled for one mistake (that wasn’t even completely on him).

They're playing Central Michigan. A team that trailed Eastern Illinois by 20 points.

Regardless if Wheeler makes the same mistake as Allen.. you can't take Wheeler out lol. Some players NEED to play.. Allen just isn't there at this time. His one strength, shooting, is still quite streaky and it's something we already have a lot of.. interior depth we don't. So brooks also has to play out of necessity.
