CC's slow start to this season is obviously a reason for some of these #s, but it is a season long award, not just a random period of time.

True. Pretty remarkable to take that into account, and her injury, and minute restriction, and yet the first EVER 800+ 300+ season in history of the league. I guess she recovered nicely.....

He's just playing his usual dumb A-- because I reminded him that Clark did in FACT break the mens all time scoring record (even though she can't "officially" ever hold the record because she's not a man). Pretty much apples to watermelons though since the Fever have played 40-41 games and the NBA guys play 82+ the playoffs, But @Legend12 has to be that guy, so.....

This year reminds me of her junior year at Iowa. The longer the year went on, the more dominant, confident and team chemistry was developed and generated. I think the Fever play for a championship this season, if they are healthy heading into the post season. We shall see.

YOU are gigging people for 'glazing" her. She is putting together one of the greatest seasons EVER by any guard ,and already setting records that no player has done in their entire career, And this after that "slow first 30 days" Worth mentioning I'd say.....

Only 4 regular season games left before the playoffs. NFL regular season opens soon. Hawks football next week, and then college basketball in Oct for the ladies, and the men in Nov. Good times.

Look, the whole thing started when I was accused of not putting her in the top 3 after her slow start. After the first 30 days she was not in the top 3 no matter how you cut it.

Now she is. She’s likely even top 2, but not at the end of May.

I do not understand why my take is so controversial.

One of the criteria for the award, and please correct me if I'm in error, is how valuable the player is to the team and how a team performs. Clark aces that test. However, the naysayers will always disagree by pointing out the turnovers. But a player who generates the amount of points that she does, has to receive heavy consideration. The Fever have a winning record, and Clark is responsible for helping to generate those wins in a large way. Not saying she'll win, but what she does when she's healthy, and being allowed to play with pace and orchestrate the offense, she's right there with the frontrunners.

They have a much better record when Clark has more than four turnovers than they do when she has four or less. High risk high reward.

In the first five games she was averaging 24 and 9…is that slow? After 10 games she was averaging almost 20 and 8. Yet she wasn’t in the top 10???
