Boston...played 30 minutes and grabbed 3 rebounds.
SW pulls Clark out at 4:33 in the 3rd. Comes back in for Timpson at 1:42. Periods of playing Clark off ball instead of bringing it up as usual.

Players with little to no off-ball movement lately.
Fever have a decent league-wise point differential at 5.2 but they give up 96/game.
They can’t play that way, everyone on the Fever would foul out by half.
Raven is not good on defense…all she would do is put that person at the free throw line multiple times.

Clark takes more shots than any other Fever player.
Clark has one of her more efficient nights of the season.
Stop it. The refs hate the Fever, White hates Clark and she gets fouled on every possession. Anything else?

The Fever remind me of an all star team. Some great parts but no cohesion.
Let me rephrase......
Yeah, and? Those are the kind of things you point out when you're arguing for the sake of being contrarian to someone complaining about things working against CC or to be contrarian when someone is praising CC.
In this game she did. In total, she does not.
This was tied for her 10th best FG shooting percentage of the season. So sure, we can go with that..................

A few notes on Caitlin's 2026 stats vs her first two seasons (obviously with 2025 being an abbreviated one):
- she IS on pace for career bests in pts, FG%, 3pt%, and FTs made/att, and is also surprisingly on track for her lowest TOs/gm count as well, despite the narratives
- her rebounding is down quite a bit though, which is something I've noticed from game to game. She is not NEARLY as active on the boards as she was her rookie year or at Iowa (5.7 rpg in 2024, 5.0 in 2025 and down to 3.9 in 2026)
- her assists total is also slightly below her first two years (8.2 currently vs 8.4 in 2024 and 8.8 in 2025), as is her steals/gm (1.3 in 2024, 1.6 in 2025, 0.9 in 2026)
I'm sure we can speculate on the different reasons for some of these changes, and obviously some of her stats were affected by her injuries over the first 1/3 of the season, but I figured it was something worth noting (mainly because I was curious to see where her rebounding totals were because they had just seemed way lower than usual, and in the games Ive been able to watch, she just seems less active in that area this year).

Well it is intentional......just not sabotage. Incompetent, sure.........but not deliberately sabotage.
that is some kind of incompetence … if true. I have trouble believing it, seems like coach sides was better than this why go with SW?
The Fever give up 90+ a night but I agree, the offense is the issue. Also, the problem with the Hindenerg is that they were serving watercress sandwiches instead of crudites.
I think Caitlin has even admitted once or twice that she is sometimes guilty of saving herself on the defensive end for when she is on offense. This goes back to her Iowa days too, ofc.
But lately it just seems like Caitlin has to work extra hard in this offense, especially given some of her teammates (eg KM) and the way she is often mugged. Part of me thinks she could find some easier pickin's on the defensive end getting more boards and even a few more blocks and steals which she has shown she is capable of.
OTOH, I don't want her to capitulate on the offensive end either! She's getting hacked and held disproportionately and she has a coach who won't go to the mat for her, a la a Becky Hammons, so it seems Caitlin has no choice but to try and just battle through it. I dunno, if Caitlin's star shines brightly enough and long enough maybe she'll start to get a better whistle. Maybe

Agree with this. She was really good most of the night but the end was brutal. Fell asleep on 2 defensive possessions in a row allowing offensive rebounds along with the other stuff. She just really struggles off the ball at times defensively.
White continues to alter the structure of the offense. One time it's Pick and Roll, another is moving Clark off ball, another is denying Clark the pass off a missed basket on the defensive end, and so on. Clark is most effective with AB in the P&R and in transition. The Indiana Fever are 2-4 this year when KM scores 30+ pts.
They are 3-1 when CC scores 30+.
The one loss coming in their third game of the season, a 104-102 loss in OT, where the Mystics outscored them at the FT line by 9 and shot 56% from the field, while the 3rd best scorer for Indiana was Mo Billings with 10 pts playing 36 minutes.....................

Also piggybacking off of that, I just did a quick search. Indiana is 7-2 when CC scores 30+.
The only other loss was in her first ever 30 pt game; an 88-82 defeat vs the Sparks in the 8th game of her career.
Don't disagree but the simple fact is CC needs to be shooting better and more consistently. She's missing way too many wide open looks. And she's missing way too many FTs. In her last 5 games she's shooting 50%, 27%, 44%, 30%, and 25% from three point range. And her FT % has dropped to 84%, which I know most players would kill for but there's no reason she shouldn't be upper 80s to 90% from the line.
I'm a big CC fan and will defend her til the end of time against her haters, but she needs to be shooting better from 3 and slow it down at the FT line and convert at a higher rate there. She's capable of both.
Fewer turnovers would be something to work on as well. Those have been killers in some of these losses.
Likely to lose their 3rd straight tonight without AB.
Well maybe not if DJC doesn't knock Clark or Mitchell out of the game as well.....
They’ll give her minutes, but she won’t suddenly become decent, so hopefully tonight is an outlier for her.
