Outside of blowing one game and letting the other get out of hand, the Fever have been on quite the run. I love CC but Mitchell is the MVP of the league in my opinion.
Strong case for Mitchell based on FG% (.504) and 3PT% (.435). She's averaging 24.2 PTs/Game, not counting the Liberty win. She hasn't missed time, as she's started all 33 games now. She's averaging 1 Stl/Game, one shy of AB at 1.4/Game. No idea what her clutch point shooting is, but it has to be pretty high. Yeah, she's looking strong.

Very true. Still I had to chuckle when they were talking about Mitchell being in the league 9 or 10 years now, BUT it was just from 2024-26 That she really took off. Hmmm.. I wonder what happened two season ago until now that let her have her three best years in a row, and getting better. Obviously Mitchell's put in the work as she has all the way back to OSU, but what happened in 2024 that opened the floor up for her. Fever really have it rolling right now. I am loving Timpson starting- I think it has really given them an edge. I am trying to think of a men’s analog - maybe Rodman?

Timpson did a solid job defensively tonight. Still hesitates a little bit after receiving a pass from Caitlin and it costs her opportunities to finish.
She doesn't quite have that tenacity and edge that Rodman played with, and thankfully, lacks the theatrics and drama as well.
But I think Timpson's arrow is only going up and she's starting to get more comfortable at this level of play. As long as she can occasionally finish a pass from CC and force tough shots in the paint on the other end, then she is probably the best option on this team rounding out the starting 5 for the remainder of this season.
Lexie will be a little more comfortable with the 3, and Sophie and Mo are just better off the bench. They can eat up minutes on a given night depending on who's on and who's not.
Ty is a spot bench player that is too irratic and Raven just isn't consistent enough yet, which isn't fair to hold against her too much because this league has a horrible history of killing rookies' growth before they ever got a chance.
She does need to get on the floor a little more, but with the way their offense is clicking right now (and she's just not really a part of that....yet) there's just not a lot of room for her right now.
Yes, everything good that has ever happened to anyone is thanks to CC.
KM was an AS the season before CC arrived, and I know you didn't follow the WNBA then, but she was s player who was continually talked about as getting better and better.
Why, when people talk about CC's assists do we not thank and honor Mitchell for her scoring prowess and efficiency?

AB shot 20% from 3pt last season. This season, 45%. That big of a leap has to be pretty rare. She is also shooting 4x the number of threes this season compared to the last two.
I do. She is the only one I feel confident in when I see a pass leaving Clark’s fingertips. I will add that of all of the fever, she needs Clark the least. I saw that last season she Clark was out. She is quick enough to get her shot off basically anytime she feels like it. With that being said, she gets a lot of open buckets on back door cuts she would rarely get if not for Clark.

Everyone is mentioning Mitchell’s scoring -as they should - but she has really turned up the defensive intensity also. At one stretch in the 2nd half vs. NY she made a couple key plays to clamp a Liberty run.

I agree on tenacity but Rodman was the most tenacious to ever do that I have seen. So maybe not a fair comparison. How about a comparison to our own men’s team with manyawu. Defends and rebounds way above height, limited offensive skills, improving all of the time.
Have you watched any of the halftime shows or post game shows? That’s all they talk about.
I agree, but wonder this has been all season. My son and I compare her to iverson but with a better jump shot. Probably the quickest player in the w. Given her quickness, should be a lock down defender if she fully applies herself.
Actually most of her misses came from CC’s passes last night.

I am biased but I agree. I know Wilson is awesome but it seems like she isn’t having quite as spectacular season as compared to her previous seasons. The other player who I think is right there is Miles. That girl can hoop.

Aja Wilson leads the WNBA in scoring and is Top5 in rebounding. She also leads the league in blocked shots. Wilson has more steals.
Some consideration for MVP will be given for how the respective teams finish but right now Wilson is the clear MVP and the Aces are defending champs.
Only way Wilson doesn’t win the MVP is if she gets injured soon and doesn’t finish the season, or there’s voter fatigue since she’s won so many times.
KM doesn’t bring enough to the table other than scoring. She has 1st team All-WNBA locked up though barring under. If CC keeps up this pace she should absolutely have 1st team All-WNBA locked up too. It would be entirely political to have the player leading the league in assists that also finishes top 3 in points not be 1st team.

Maybe I'm trying so hard not to be a homer that I've become biased in the other direction but l I think Miles is almost a lock for 1st team and CC is the one trying to play her way on.
Fwiw if she keeps playing at the level she is I think she'll make it.

But if Guards are eligible I think it will come down to her or Paige.
In no way was my comment about Mitchell a dig on her. I wasn't just talking about the assists from Clark. The gravity that Clark has (often drawing one defender 90 ft from the basket and double anytime she approaches the lane, and sometimes three players when she gets in the paint), has opened the floor for Mitchell more, just as its allowed Boston wide open threes. I would give you the benefit of the doubt that you understand all of this, yet your first sentence is typical of your trying to associate your narrative to something I never said. Never said that. Still Clarks gravity does in fact change spacing and opportunities for all of her teammates. That was my point.
She's talked about how she worked on her footwork and being ready for that shot.
Wow. Who's in somebodies head? First off Boston did ALOT of work in the off season on her footwork being ready to take that shot when she receives the pass. This has been covered during a couple of games. Cudos to AB for putting in the work, and its made an impact for her and her team. But certainly to a degree having both Clark and Mitchell threatening the paint has opened her up for more open looks. Do continue to expose your nonsense though. Its enlightening for everyone here....
To a degree but like Clark she gets caught in mismatches on defense on switches and her height because problematic then.
I think CC is currently second by just a bit in assists, but the only player in the top three both assists and scoring, so yes she should be considering 1st team. Better check with Legend 12 on that one though. He is the "authority" after all......

I gave up on all the pre, halftime, post show glazing by the people in studio because the lingo they use has just gotten so repetitive and cringe to listen to, and that's if they're not saying something stupid about Caitlin Clark or blaming some sort of civil discourse on Fever players or the fans/trying to excuse the actions of other teams' players and make them out to be blameless victims..............
Not sure Miles is a lock. Although she's been fantastic. Clarks the only player in the W in the top three in both assists and scoring. Currently she's almost 2pts/gm ahead of Miles scoring, and a full 2 assists/GM ahead of Miles. That's still fairly substancial this far in. Of course if the Lynx win the championship they may skew things her way.

Clark is currently in 2nd place, .015 assists per game less than AT, but is also averaging more than 3 minutes per game less playing time than AT so far this season with about 10 games to go. Mainly because of the minutes restrictions from injuries earlier in the season. Now that she's seemingly healthy and playing more minutes, I expect her assists per game to continue increasing and solidifying the lock on the highest average. She's only been playing more than 30 minutes in the past 6 games. During that stretch she's averaging 9.3 Assists per game. All W is a regular season accomplishment and gets announced before the playoffs
Miles also has the team success working in her favor. And I have a hard time believing that voters will leave the best player on the #1 seed off 1st team if it's close stats wise.
