Why would anyone think CC fans are racist ********? JFC..
Explain to me how this is racist? What exactly in this wording is racist? Unless you are making an assumption of what that person is feeling inside there is nothing in those words. If you would have said vulgar then I agree. I suppose you think all of the crazy twitter posts attacking CC are just an objective expression of feelings? At some point direct criticism of a person who is black is just not always racist at its core. How many times is it going to take for false accusations to resonate with some of you?

If a death threat is made - then report it to the police.

This is so unbelievably dumb that only a special few posters could have posted it.

CC ranks 7th in the WNBA in FTA per game....and only 3 Gs are ahead of her.
Realistically, not one guard should be ahead of her. Post players - yes. But it's not like she does not go to the basket as much or more than most of the guards in the league.

So White took up for CC after the game and correctly called out the cheap shot from AT that leads to a suspension.

Pretty reasonable. Regardless of what you think of AT as a player or person, I think most people don't think she should be receiving slurs and death threats over this incident. White even stated that she did not believe the people sending these messages were WNBA or Fever fans.

I've seen several people say similar things like this. Firstly, I'd question how much some of you are on social media because if you think slurs and death threats getting sent to professional athletes is out of the realm of possibilities then you are living under a rock. Secondly even if you believe that AT is lying would you rather White publicly doubt her? Because that would open a whole can of worms that would make this data go on longer than it already has.

I believe this comment was in regards to player safety off the court and online. Which again is pretty mundane statement
The fact that others have said that doesn't mean it did or did not happen to Thomas. It COULD be her crutch to cover her butt over all the flack she's getting. Also I'm pretty sure Clark has also been on the receiving end of some of that. Did White also comment then. I'm just asking, because I don't remember that.....

In late May CC and Golden State Valkyries guard Tiffany Hayes got into it on court. After the game, Hayes was on Threads interacting with "fans" that were trashing CC. One "fan" wrote, "Listen. I got some cousins we don’t speak about that will ride at dawn upon request. Just let me know."
Hayes replied, "😂 that’s real."

The league didn't do a damn thing. And, Hayes endorsed the threat to kill or harm Caitlin!

Now the entire WNBA is genuflecting to AT.

If you can't connect the dots, you don't have a brain.

It could be a crutch, sure. But given how much attention this story has gotten in and out of the sports world I'd bet a large sum of money that AT has gotten vile **** sent to her online over the last week.

Clark gets a lot of hate, hell if you told me she got the most **** sent to her online in the W I'd believe it. She, as far as I know, has chosen not to address any online attacks she's received publicly. If she came out tomorrow and addressed them publicly I'd anticipate and expect White to comment on them as well.

White was going to get asked about AT's comments at some point so she lead off her media availability by making a statement that is fairly benign. She made it clear that there's lines that shouldn't be crossed with what gets sent online, no players in the league should have to deal with it, and that these messages are being sent by people who aren't actual fans of the Fever or the Wnba.

When CC speaks to the media next she'll get asked about the incident with AT and the fallout. if I had to bet her message will sound a lot like Steph's.

Not sure I agree with everything but at least you make valid points and are a respectful poster unlike some of this nonsense.

Because race and orientation don't have anything to do with it. He loses all credibility and just sounds like an angry *******... in a world full of angry azzholes.. he feeds the stereotypical image of an Iowa fan.. we don't need to hear it.

You expect that Clark would be voted the 11th best guard by the players, but I'm kind of surprised by the low key spite for Kelsey Plum also being down voted by her peers while putting up the numbers she is on an otherwise terrible roster.
Kelsey Plum is averaging 23.9 points a game, shooting 52% from the field, and 6.4 assists per game. No guard in the W comes close to those numbers, yet her rank is 5 with the media and 12 on the player vote. That tells everything you need to know about the travesty of a sport's league. An absolute joke.

That really isn't the point........
Maybe not that tweets point bc it’s just an angry rambling rant. My point is she could be closer to 5-6th best guard in a lot of players’ minds but they can only choose 4.

I found when filled out the ballot there were a lot of people deserving of a vote but there are only 4 spots and a lot of really good guards

I'm not a marketing major. But why are we to care how players are being marketed?

NIL aside, It's arguable whether CC should be on a 30 yr poster. The main reason to have CC on the poster would be marketing. And my guess is it would have been sound marketing to do so. But I don't see where the poster is something to raise a stink about.

Hitting the station and clapping can both be worthy of a technical. I'd have to see the clip of the clapping. If it's deemed to have been showing up an official or taunting a player, a tech certainly can apply. And, I believe disrespect of property is to be interpreted as an automatic tech.

Why does CC not benefit from freedom of movement initiative? No, I'm not sure what you're referring to.

I watch parts of Fever games. Although there couldn't be a bigger basketball junkie, my viewing doesn't always land on the Fever. I've never watched the game for the purpose of watching one player. And most of my bball viewing comes down to where the live market betting opportunities arise. Unless we're talking Hawkeye nights, of course. But I see a good deal of Fever action, and haven't ever seen anything but hard play vs CC, and bad officiating all the way around.

What does a statement for Thomas have to do with Clark? Did CC receive death threats?
There were multiple players after Clark got her technical for hitting the stanchion that did the same thing and didn’t get a technical for it. There has also been examples of players clapping and not getting a technical for it. Their lack of consistency seems to revolve around Clark.
Clark doesn’t benefit from freedom of movement calls because she doesn’t get them called for her very often, only against her. In relation to the amount of times she handles the ball, she gets to the line less than any other player.
There’s a good video on YouTube that shows all the flagrant fouls against Clark in her career….the majority of them have not been called, yet she still has more flagrant fouls against her than any other player and some of those weren’t even called fouls on the court. It’s really not even a question that Clark gets called differently than any other player in the league- anyone that knows basketball agrees with that.

Wincraft company has put out other posters with Clark on it…look it up.
Yes, when they had an NIL deal with her, which they no longer do.

She signed with Topps/Fanatics in 2022 and then left for an exclusive deal with Panini in March, 2024.
