***CC22 and the Fever mega thread***

Why wouldn't they have been? Assists have been an official stat in basketball since at least, the 1950s.
CC vs Lucy tonight - two of my favorite Hawks!
I was curious about that too, so I looked up her game logs. Surprisingly, despite being far and away the WNBA's all-time leader with 23 triple-doubles, AT has only posted 20+ points and 9+ assists in a single game 7 times during the regular season and 4 times during the playoffs.
She entered the league in 2014 and didn't become the assist machine that she is now for several years. She never posted more than 4 assists in a single game until her third season in 2016. Her first 20+/9+ game didn't happen until 2020 and then not again until she posted 3 of them in 2023. She has one in each of the past 3 seasons, including one already this year.
She has a lot of games where she posted double-digit assists but in most of those games she scored in the teens. That's why stats like these always make me a little suspicious, because they can be specifically tailored to promote an agenda.

It was a great start, but when CC went out for a break and the Fever offense went to sh*t.
Free Boston. 2 early baskets off CC assists and nothing after. How does she disappear on offense so frequently? Not saying it’s on her…just weird.
CC has to have rest. But not 5 minutes worth of game action. Absurd.
When the Fever offense falls into a rut, their defense quickly follows. This is a terrible stretch of ball from the Fever on both ends.
This has been coaching malpractice
It’s actually been really bad defense. And this isn’t college where CC is going to play 98% of the game. Boston has been terrible this year defensively, she’s honestly killing us. White can’t play defense. The bench came in and **** the bed.
The Fever have gone ice cold. CC is 2-9, with most of those misses from 2pt.
Caitlin needs needs to forget about the middie. Not good at it yet in game action.
There is not playing 98% of the game and then there is sitting her for huge chunks of time where a big lead turns into losing because the offense is dysfunctional.
Dumb idea by CC. Dantas might be the last person on the Fever she should try to hit with the homerun pass
The Fever just made Boston a long term cornerstone of the franchise. It’s time to step up. Cause right now she looks like the furthest thing from a cornerstone.
I would say Boston is struggling because for coaching reasons I cannot fathom, I do not recall them running a single pick and roll with her and Caitlin this SEASON, which used to be her bread and butter.
That's a three CC has to hit every time. Wide open, barely behind the line, plenty of time to get set. She will hit 30 of those in a row in practice.
