Clark has said on multiple occasions that it has been her dream since she was a little girl to play in the WNBA. Do you really think that she will now walk away from the WNBA in order to play in a flimsy 6-team international league?

She doesn’t need the money and all the action that matters will still be in the WNBA.

That’s not to say that the WNBA is perfect. Reforms are obviously needed. Sack Engelbert and hire a Commissioner with a more expansive vision and an aggressive action plan, preferably someone with professional basketball experience - that’s a good first step IMO.
When a childhood dream becomes an adult nightmare - yes, she might do just that.

FIFY about Engelbert.

Seems to me the “nightmare” exists in the heads of CC super fans and WNBA critics. Meanwhile, Clark keeps talking about the Fever, winning a title, and and her connection to her teammates.
Wouldn't you until you had another opportunity? I never said it anything more than a possible scenario. But then I guess you never change your mind about anything?

Because she’s a great person and a great teammate and media savvy. Who knows what she’s really thinking about the league and its myriad of deficiencies?

Yes it’s reasonable to presume that Clark would consider other opportunities. However, the opportunity specifically cited was a jump from the WNBA to a six team start up international basketball league led by LeBron James and funded by the royal family of Saudi Arabia.

What’s the motivation?

Money? Clark could make a lot more compensation but her current financial status (and future earning potential) strongly suggests that money would not be a strong motivation to abandon her lifelong dream. She has already declined a big payday from the Unrivaled League.

A championship? To me, this appears to be a very strong motivating factor for CC —— a WNBA championship, that is. I seriously doubt that hoisting the Mohammed bin Salman Championship trophy as winner of the LeBron James International Hoopers League will satisfy Clark much.

Fans, particularly CC fans, are mad at the WNBA - for good reasons. Lousy league management, inconsistent officiating, odd scheduling, etc. some of those fans are frustrated to the point of hoping Clark will quit the league. Nothing indicates that she will or wants to, or that her dreams have become “nightmares”.

Yes. Players will only say so much and keep the rest to themselves, understandably.

Since you asked - an Olympic Gold Medal likely means far more to CC than any WNBA Championship. And you do understand that my use of the word "nightmare" had nothing to do with how I feel she may be feeling. It was a simple reference. But do you really believe she will continue to take the kind of abuse she has received the last two years? As you said - she has plenty of money.

I don't know about that. I mean she wants one sure, BUT with her on the team its basically a given she'd get one. Now a league championship will take some work roster wise as we're seeing this season. Hardly a given.....

Wings played a tough game last night.

Sky giving Liberty a battle and the Sun beating Washington…the bottom of the league playing with pride and effort.

The Mystics have lost two consecutive games to the Sun. They are currently in 10th place, but are playing themselves out of the playoff picture. They are not out, yet, but the Sparks, Storm, and Valkyries are the bigger threats to the Fever. The Fever still have one more game against each of them.

This is also the Lynx' third road game in four days. This is a game the Fever can win.

I wonder if Kelsey can pull off winning league MVP.

At the very least she should be 1st Team All WNBA, imo.

I know there's the whole lame af pro rules about 3 sec in the lane for defense, but holy sh** the lack of help on drives never ceases to astound me.

If you get beat, you get embarrassed. Heaven forbid we force a player to recognize a corner kick and let a power forward chuck an open 3 as opposed to giving up an easy layup because these women make Fran McCaffery defenses look like Phil Parker is a f***ing amateur who should be coaching Friday Night Tykes....................
