I just tuned in to see what the score was.

Lots of half-*** effort, no defense, lots of threes/bricks being shot.

the ratings will be record setting, I am sure. ;)

Well there was a point when if Sykes had made an easy layup, it would have closed to 8. But didn’t and they kept missing the layups and 4s. Collier’s team had better height and more variety on shots and hotter….

Didn't watch, but I heard the 4 point shot was a awful. It was clearly made for CC but because she didn't play, it turned out to be terrible for the game.

Just an overall disastrous weekend for the W.
Oh, they'll come up with a narrative that it was a great week. It will be interesting when they vote down the CBA in October because they aren't getting "their worth", Is anybody going to notice if they don't play next season......

There was no defense but that's pretty much par for the course when it comes to an all star game in any league at this point. It didn't help the competitiveness that Team Caitlin was missing two starters due to injury and had two other players on a minutes restriction.

The W better start flying right soon. I came in with the Caitlin tide and didn’t miss a fever game last year. I was shocked at the refs and how other teams physically abused Caitlin and were allowed to do it. That shock continued this year, and it has turned into disgust as the players and refs took away the only reason I cared to watch, with her injuries. I have actually come to disdain the W other than the fever players. The shortsightedness of killing their golden goose is bad enough, but then to turn around and say they are getting screwed by the compensation when they themselves tanked the ratings by injuring Clark is just too much for me.

Getting Caitlin injured repeatedly, they are getting me used to her not playing. At this point, I’m okay with no more w and following Caitlin overseas.

Seems like the WNBA as a whole feels that they can demand money, viewers, etc without understanding that they have to actually provide a product worth watching
Its all part of the whole "equality" thing. We're "owed" because we are part of a class thats been disrespected for so long. The college game is fun, because the girls are part of the team we cheer for. Theres some skill involved, and for the most part the game is cleaner. In the W there are maybe a dozen or more elite level players another dozen good players and then mostly woman who are just decent players who are just there and filling rosters. Expansion will certainly not help the % of just decent level players in the league which will only further dilute the product. There will continue to be some really good players enter the league. What they should is incorporate this upgrade talent and start cutting out some of the roster "fillers" before they start expanding. The really funny thing is that while they want to keep saying thats its more then just Clark, they are pushing hard to expand NOW because they need her to fill up these arenas of these new teams when they expand.

That’s really silly and delusional as well. Playing in the WNBA has been CC’s life-long dream. No serious person thinks she will quit the WNBA. Good god, please stop with the overseas nonsense.

Learn to read. No more w means there would be no more w. Hence, playing overseas.
That’s even more delusional. The WNBA is not going to fold.

C’mon. You believe the WNBA will soon cease to exist?

The WNBA is generating record attendance and skyrocketing revenues.

The league recently announced expansion by adding franchises in Detroit, Cleveland, and Philadelphia.

None about the current state of the WNBA remotely indicates that “there will be no more w”. You can’t be serious.

Um, learn to read. My comment was in response to the possibility of a lockout. But, I suppose the possibility of a lockout is “delusional” because those have never happened in professional sports.

Deeper into the sinkhole. Learn to write better. A lockout is still considered a low possibility and in any event, a stoppage in no way means there will be “no more w”

Further, if there is a temporary stoppage, the chances of Clark signing an overseas contract is practically nil. Stop the nonsense.

I'm not digging a hole, you are either too obtuse or too big of an ******* to read in context. I know I know, this is incredibly tough stuff to follow:

KCEasthawk: Oh, they'll come up with a narrative that it was a great week. It will be interesting when they vote down the CBA in October because they aren't getting "their worth", Is anybody going to notice if they don't play next season......

My response: Getting Caitlin injured repeatedly, they are getting me used to her not playing. At this point, I’m okay with no more w and following Caitlin overseas.

In terms of absurdity, there are a number of options for women to play professional basketball for more money than they make in the W. They want a big paycheck from a league that still operates in the red. A lockout is distinct possibility. One google search immediately brings up:

Your implication in this context is that Clark would play overseas because she needs the money.

Jesus Christ. The “implementation” is that Caitlin would want to play basketball. She does not need her piddly W salary to be replaced. That doesn’t mean other players wouldn’t force a lockout who do need the money.
I don’t give a **** about other players.

A lockout is uncertain and if it should happen, the stoppage length of time is highly speculative. Speculation on top of uncertainty.

If there is a lockout, Clark and her agents are smart enough to realize that playing organized bb in an international league is unnecessarily risky.

Foreign style of play is no less rough - in some respects it’s worse -and she would be coming off a season where she experienced a series of injuries which caused her to miss a dozen games (so far)
She is not going to risk serious injury/ACL tear e.g. playing a team of “professionals”from Romania. Clark could getter competition scrimmaging in Indiana.

I cannot believe the energy you are spending trying to prove an off-handed comment by me wrong, after shooting first and asking questions later. Questions, I might add, which are based on speculation as to the likelihood and length of a lockout. You also seem to believe you know a lot about about what Clark and her agents think is smart or not smart in terms of managing her brand and body. You know none of these things. I could be wrong that Caitlin would want to play ball in Europe should there be a lockout. Then again, I could be right. Either way I'm not sure why you being such a dickhead.

Not trying to be abrasive just tired of reading comments from Clark fans wishing she would abandon the WNBA, play international bb, start her own league, etc.

..…as if it was a realistic possibility.

Everything Clark has done and said to this point indicates that she is absolutely committed to the WNBA. Other options don’t make sense. I occasionally challenge fantasies. No apologies for that.

This whole episode today was spurred by me musing I wouldn't mind following her in Europe in response to someone suggesting there could be a lockout. You then made several ill-fated leaps of logic. If your response to this wasn't intended to be abrasive, then I do not know what to tell you.
