The top two WNBA assist leaders face off tonight - Alyssa Thomas 8.4 apg vs. Caitlin Clark 8.1 apg.

Less TOs and better teammate rim finishes would help Clark. Thomas is a triple threat player. Should be an interesting matchup.

With the most talented team ever n many years. Full of WNBA draft picks. So yes I do think it would be good for CC to join a super team to win a title. Just like Betts.

Yeah I'd be in favor of her winning titles however they may happen.

It's not all sunshine and rainbows playing with CC. Unfortunately there's a lot she can't control (media scrutiny, social media drama, etc) but there's somethings she can control (defensive effort, on court demeanor).

I was just pointing out that it's dumb to think that a lot of Vets would rather lose than join the Fever and help CC win. They can skip the media circus join another team and win like Betts did in college.

Oh definitely. My reference to Betts was more about choosing to play with other great players even if means less attention, less accolades, etc.

But playing with CC comes with a lot of good and some downside, for sure. At the same time, you can be AB and KM and avoid almost all the scrutiny (no matter how deserved) cause CC will absorb most of that burden. The accountability standard for CC compared to KM and AB is quite something. If they really are as great as the league has annointed them (and of course their careers have been really good) then start taking a lot of heat from fans beyond just CC/Fever fans.

I would agree with most of this. CC obviously gets almost all the scrutiny. I'll also say that her body language in general is just really bad this year. The moment things started going a little bit South in that Atlanta game she almost looked like she quit out there. That's just a bad look in general. If you're going to be the leader and the pt guard of the team she's got to stop pouting. Things don't always go well. As we know Jordan didn't win anything for a long time in the league. She's got to just keep her head and keep playing and leading.

Few professional bb players and practically zero highly talented players are going to consider increased media attention a negative or something to be avoided.

I would guess that playing time and the promise of playing a significant role is paramount.

Still a bit odd, that a "supposed game changer" and back to back NPOTY like Betts seems to play very few minutes for her team. It seems pretty obvious that while she's a decent athlete it was mostly her being 6'7" and a long wingspan were her biggest assets, and she doesn't really standout in a league where many teams have 6'6 or taller players.

Clark has had 5 or more turnovers in 70% of the games she’s played in.

It’s more of a Clark problem than a big 3 problem.

This is the conversation that I struggle with. I mean, without question she needs to turn the ball over less. That's seems pretty obvious, but how should that be achieved? This is a player who led the nation by a wide margin every year but one in college in assists and finished second the other year. On to the W and same thing. right at the top and setting multiple game, season and career records. So the turnovers, right. How should the team approach this. The conversation is, "okay CC, those amazing passes that we convert and get a score, THOSE are great, keep doing those. Now the ones that get away, get fumbled by the player, or you just miscalculate, you need to stop doing those. What should her expectations from White and the Fever be? CC you need to average 9-10 assists/GM, but the TO's need to be 3-4/GM? Good numbers, BUT can she achieve the one goal and the other consistently?
