I'd speculate they are going to tell Skyy Clark and family what's up before things get out. You can't ignore a talent like this and if Clark camp is upset, that's life at a blueblood. I wanted different guards when he was healthy but now you can't move forward with an injured guy who isn't the most athletic/quick player anyway coming off major knee surgery as your lone '22 PG commit especially when the best PG in the class has basically told you for a year he'd commit if you offered.

It's recruiting, never too late. But if it doesn't happen it's 1000000000000% on Cal. O/Chin already offered the guy last year when at Illinois and Jai Lucas has been pushing for Wallace for about a year as well.

Worst part of not being able to get out to see guys is that Cal never got to see Clark in person either. This decision would've been a lot easier in April seeing Wallace and then Clark play in person. You'd not have to dance around his injury and feelings.

Just hope it's not too late and he does what's right/best for program and not someone's ego.

Could be it. Makes sense. It's either that or Cal feels Wallace to UT is too much of a foregone conclusion, but Cal usually doesn't worry about that.

Yes and he played at a level well enough that I wasn't alone in that--rankings reflected the play, but Wallace has gone up another level at Peach Jam. Also said there were about 20 guards better then Skyy Clark in '22 and that MoKan would win if/when Bryson Warren got elevated.

Main point is move on or at least bring in serious competition for a guy that is vastly overrated based on how he played as a FR/Soph and not what he's done since then.

He's not wrong though. I said that about Gortman and not like we're talking as if he's a bum or something. But Wallace earned top PG ranking with the week he's had and where he's been doing it.

My preference is the guys you mentioned with Nick Smith Jr also as a serious option to that mix as well.

Sky is a stud and would have been lighting it up this week as well. His knee surgery went well and Dr. said he will be back stronger then ever. Bring them all in and run 3 guards or platoon. I hope we keep Skyy and add the others.
