I have never seen a fan base with as much success as we have had over the last 5 years criticize its coach so much. Have all of you Cal bashers only been fans since he has been here? We have one of the top 3 coaches in the game. Period. And one of those other 3 coaches? Oh yeah, he lost in the first round too. In a 1 and out tournament, losses happen that aren't supposed to happen. It isn't a 7 game series. That's part of what makes this tournament so exciting and maddening.

I am disappointed too, but not at Cal. We had an off shooting night and no production from our post. Still got to see some great games - the SEC tournament final was one of the best I've seen in the past 10 years. It sucks to lose and for seasons to end, but it happens. Our coach didn't beat us. Indiana did.

I am getting a little tire of the stupid fans. Cal is far and away the second best coach in the business. You have to put Coach K above him but nobody else is even close. So we come up short with nearly 80% roster turn over and we actually have fans that want to replace him. Replace him with what?

My advice is take the weekend off and let the fools vent.

This place will probably be a cess pool until a) the season is over b) Our enemies are all gone.

This will unfortunately fall on deaf ears. The loud minority have no sense. And some are just trolls with no lives

As much as I disagree with a lot of the posts on here, I still think UK has the greatest fan base second to none. Our fan base sets the standard that other fan bases envy.
I believe most of the posts that appear to be negative are nothing more than diehard fans venting their anger, displeasure, hurt and disappointment. When any of us fail at something we viewed as achievable, it's only human nature to second guess even our own selves and I would dare to believe that Cal does the same thing. Failure isn't the worst thing, quitting is.
Hopefully next years team achieves what this years team couldn't do and that's winning number 9. Cal make not always make the right decisions, neither do we, but I'll take a coach that the one and done's want to play for over the four year plan anytime. Would be nice to have a few two and three year players too, but just enough to be the glue to keep the team going in the right direction.

I actually think it's been fairly calm, all things considered. Losing in the tournament to a rival, generally brings out the worst in people. Sure, there have been some idiots, but the meltdown isn't anywhere close to what I thought it would be.

I know fans of other fanbases and they can't tell you one single incoming recruits name for their team. Also, when your fanbase is the greatest and biggest of all teams, you're going to have more bad apples.

That's a good point. Just blows my mind that people are so quick to blame our coach for a loss in a one and out tournament when he is, in fact, one of the best in the business. Everyone looks for things to blame the loss on, which is understandable to some degree, but the bottom line is one of our 2 best players had a miserable shooting night and we got nothing from our front court, yet our coach still had us in the game.

from a fanbase who just celebrated their 1,000 loss this season and haven't won anything since Reagan,
there's been nothing for them to spank to.

I think most of us knew a long time ago 2017 is our year. Anyone who bashes Cal is either a troll or a moron.

That's an accurate comparison. That team, if you recall, made a nice little run through the SEC-T, knocking off eventual champ Arkansas and FF participant Florida. We played a bad game like we did tonight in the second round and went home. It happens to every coach and every program no matter how great.

That is all Rick recruited was wings and guards and played a crazy style. Press foul shoot 3's, Cal doesn't do that. This one was more like the 2006 team with Rondo and Sparks.

I agree. Some of these people are complete idiots. Be thankful for what we have accomplished since Cal has been here. This has been the greatest run in modern history for the Kentucky basketball. We'll be back in the final four next year. Write it down.

Like I said before, even the great Adolph Rupp only made the NCAA/NIT title game 1/6 of the time. I don't even want to think about how it'd be if there were online forums and such in those days...

I'm not that upset. In all honesty I knew all off season that this was going to be a bridge year in between two elite teams. We had a mass exodus from the 38-1 team but we're still able to win the SEC regular season and tourney plus when a NCAA tourney game. That is by far and away better than our last down year which was 2012-2013.

We already know we will be loaded. Humphries, Mathews, Hawkins, and Willis will all be back for sure. Also we should get some other guys back as well. The only guys that are for sure gone are Ulis, Murray, and Poythress. Briscoe, Lee, and skal are the only ones that are up in the air at this point.

We have some elite talent coming in so in the meantime I'm just going to sit back watch the Reds, then the Olympics, football season, and before we know it basketball will be back.
