If Harper is an ankle , rest is key . If he’s not close to 100 percent , take the loss vs Iowa and move on .
I don’t like this take the loss nonsense.
Well, if Harper isn’t ready to go full throttle ...no reason to risk it. So you sit him , take the L and move on. It January 2. This is a marathon, not a sprint.I don’t like this take the loss nonsense.
I agree, but it’s not gamesmanship that Cliff hasn’t practiced. There's a lot of gamesmanship with Pike when he speaks on player updates. In general, any coach is going to keep the other coach guessing to put doubt in the minds of the opposing team.
Isn't Iowa averaging over 94 points per game over its first 10 games ?We win regardless. Iowa is soft as they come and will crumble under our physical play
I agree, but it’s not gamesmanship that Cliff hasn’t practiced.
RHJ is a different story, hopefully he can play...as noted he doesn’t need to practice, if he feels good on game day shoot around he plays
Agree here. We play Iowa again at their place. If our guys are banged up theres no reason to push it this time around; I'd rather roll into Iowa City with a fully loaded team ready to go than risk a longer term injury in this home game...
The difference is In Iowa Garza and the gang are allowed to play defense with bats and axe handles if they like. If they get a few calls against Franny pisses his pants with anger, gets a T and the refs back down.
They are also giving up around 90 a game alsoIsn't Iowa averaging over 94 points per game over its first 10 games ?
We might need our top scorer for that one...if he can go.
Yeah that’s what happened against us I think last year when he got the T right at halftime and the reffing was def different in the second halfYeah, can't wait for that first Frantrum
100% agree. From a fan perspective, we all want to see him play, injured or not. From a coach perspective, and knowing how a recently sprained ankle is more prone to reinjury, I don't play Harper unless it was a very minor sprain and he's 100%. We have a tough schedule coming up and is better to have Harper fully healed up for the remaining games than risk losing him for more of the season by playing him too soon.If Harper is an ankle , rest is key . If he’s not close to 100 percent , take the loss vs Iowa and move on .
Harper spent a lot of time standing during the Purdue game. I would be surprised if he was a no go.
It's not a given that we lose without Harper. But if he comes back too soon and get hurt worse and misses a bunch of games, we could wind up with more losses overall.I don’t like this take the loss nonsense.
I think people were overstating the situation if RH can't play. We can definitely win without him. Is just harder is all.I am sure Geo, Jacob, and the rest are not assuming this will be a loss if Ron is unable to play. Next man up. Loser mentality to assume we cannot win without him, even if it is obvious we are better with him. If we are taking the L, just play only walk-ons. Why would we risk Myles or Geo or anyone else getting hurt, right?
I think you are 100% on target. I listened to his news conference and he said nothing. In fact, his comment about Jacob didn't confirm he would play, only that he was tough. There's a lot of gamesmanship with Pike when he speaks on player updates. In general, any coach is going to keep the other coach guessing to put doubt in the minds of the opposing team.
Agreed. Iowa is a really good team, so with or without Harper, we need to have a really good game to beat them. But we're a good team too. So if they have an off game, it'll be hard for them to beat us.No argument from me that Ron should not risk a long-term injury for a January 2nd game. Oddly, even against Iowa and their high-powered offense, I don’t hate our chances if he can't go.
No, we aren’t better off without HarperIn fact, we are better off without Harper. It puts too much pressure on Iowa and no pressure on Rutgers.
I am ok either way.
I disagree that Rutgers is better off without Harper who clearly is one of the best players in the B1G.In fact, we are better off without Harper. It puts too much pressure on Iowa and no pressure on Rutgers.

This is crazy talk. Every prediction you make is off by miles. I assume you just don’t want anyone to take you seriously. I’m with you on that.In fact, we are better off without Harper. It puts too much pressure on Iowa and no pressure on Rutgers.

You have turned into the boards butter knife. Not the sharpest guy in the shed.In fact, we are better off without Harper. It puts too much pressure on Iowa and no pressure on Rutgers.
